Medline 12" Grab Bar, Knurled Chrome

Greetings.I purchased 3 of these Medline Knurled Chrome grab bars(2-24" and 1-32") for my father. I needed the "knurled" feature as these are for the shower stall, and thus needed the texturized grip.The knurled part of the bar has excelent grip in both wet and dry conditions, and each bar comes with 6-2" wood screws and 2 white rubber installation-end-gaskets to cushion the bar against the wall for installation. They do not come with the plastic anchors for the screws that you need for installation into a concrete wall, those will have to be purchased seperately.That being said, it's a bar that doesn't stick out too far from the wall, just about 3" (this is important if you have a small-to-medium sized stall, as the bars will reduce the space to move within the stall by anywhere from 3-5" in most cases, PER each side of the stall having a bar). Continuing,.....it's a bar, it works, it looks 1/2 way decent, it does its job quite well and it was/is relatively cheap via Amazon with the Free Super Saver Shipping feature.The only complaints I have with the bars, are not so much with the actual bars themselves, but rather with two facts.Fact one: Each bar comes in its own retail box, true, but, during the mailing of the product, Medline packaged each retail box seperately in a HUGE carton shipping box, with lots and lots of padding, so I received 3 incredibly huge-for-the-content and overly stuffed (paper stuffing too) carton boxes. This may seem like a pet-pieve but this just seems senseless for a company to do, especially when the object is to save money when you're shipping for FREE (they tripled their shipping costs and tripled their consumption of paper based shipping materials), and especially when all of the bars were ordered form the same vendor in the same order at the same time, and when part of the FSSS feature is to have the items come in as few shipments as possible. It just seems ecologically unfriendly for the times.Fact two: The Medline bars, both the 24" and the 32" are advertised as 1.5" knurled diameter bars, but what I received was 3 bars of 1.25" (0.25" smaller) knurled diameter bars (stated on the retail box). I could see maybe one of three bars or maybe the 2 bars of 24" being the lesser-than-advertised diameter, as maybe they were out of stock, but all three? Somebody made a typo on the Amazon description page. I now live outside the continental 48 and it'd be too expensive to send these back up, so I'll just have to live with someone else's mistake. (Thankfully my father has smaller hands than me, so maybe this was supposed to be, but still......advertise it correctly or get the order right, otherwise don't send it out I say).Thus based on those two facts, the bars get 4 stars, and not 5, for their rating. Then again, shipping was FREE, so what am I complaining about?...lol... you get the picture.Ok, that's it, hope this helps you. Cheers!

Easy to install works great! Shipping was right on time!

We live in an elevated home. We have a chair lift to assist our elderly parents get to the first floor of our home. This grab bar has significantly improved the ease/ confidence for my parents to get up from the chair and step up into the house. Game changer.

This was an excellent purchase. After a falling incident I decided we need these. You don’t have to be elderly, disabled or weak to need this item. Even young children can benefit from a grab bar when entering or exiting a tub.I’m not experienced at installing stuff using tools so even though I had the proper tools it was still a little difficult to do. But worth it. I ordered 2 and installed one each day since I was getting frustrated. Still, worth the trouble.These bars have a slight roughness pattern on the ends which is better than a smooth surface. And they are up there for LIFE! It’s a strong bond if you follow the instructions. Persevere, you’ll be glad you didn’t give up or half-azz it.Put one on the wall where you enter your tub and another along the back wall and you will never regret this purchase. You cut down on the chances to fall if you make it a habit to grab the bar when entering/exiting the tub.

These have a larger circumference for arthritic hands, cost less than a local store. I don't care that the mountings screws show I'm about safety. They are chrome so still look good.

The price is good, and the quality of the product good - the only problem, and it is a big one, is that the box contains no instructions for installing it. (I bought three boxes, and none have instructions, so this is deliberate.) I read through the description, no instructions. Not a good idea to make something and then assume the buyer knows how to install it. WE have a handyman friend who can figure it out - but when applying something like this to a shower stall, you have to know how to secure it rightly, and whether to have a stud behind it, and if there is one, how long the screws need to be - nothing about this whatsoever, not even on the outside of the box. I'm keeping them, and using them, because we are shifting to just outside the stalls, and thus, using the stud wall there, which eliminates uncertainty. But someone needs to tell the manufacturer to include instructions.

My wife has MS so I am constantly finding ways to improve safety for her. I added this on the door frame of our bedroom, leading to the bathroom. When she gets out of bed, she can grab it to pull herself out of bed and into the bathroom. Very solid and reliable and the textured surface of the grab area is great. I am wheelchair bound myself and I could easily install this with a drill.

We put the bar outside our back door to help my mother in law getting in and out of the door.

Son muy buenas, de buen tamaño, y loos soposrtes para poner los tornillos (tres) de cada lado son suficvientes. No se ven muy bien , por que no traen como cubrir los tornillos y no se ven tan bonitas como otras que si tienen un chapeton para cubrir los tornillos.

Excelente calidad, es muy firme, y como trae una parte que no es lisa, el agarre es más seguro. Muy satisfecha con el producto. Volvería a comprarlo sin dudar.

Excelente producto, muy buena calidad y buen terminado, exactamente lo que necesitaba, seria aún mejor si trajera los taquetes para la instalación, los tornillos son un poco fragiles de la cabeza si les pones mucha fuerza de barre la forma.
