Fulfilled my needs.
Desperately needed something between me and my notebook. I sit in a reclined position with the notebook sitting on my chest. Best position for me since it allows me to best see the screen. But notebook is getting older and throwing off more and more heat. This does a pretty good job. Before, l was using magazines, cardboard, a blanket (in the winter) which is a bad idea since it restricts cooling, etc. This is much better and does not slide around as bad as the other items I was using, although it unfortunately still slides around more that preferred. Overall, for the price paid, and for my needs, an excellent buy. Didn't give it more stars since it slides more than I would prefer. In fairness, I am not using it in the way it was designed to be used, flat on a table or lap.

but now I'm really glad I didn't go for the more expensive options because ...
I was very shocked when this mat worked the way I'd hoped. Initially, I bought this one because it was the least expensive, but now I'm really glad I didn't go for the more expensive options because even without a motor or anything to manually keep the computer cool, my laptop hasn't overheated once in the four weeks since I bought it. I definitely recommend this item. The only problem I have with it is that the bottom is very scratchy and I scratch my hands on it often. They're not bad scratches by any means, but it is a little annoying.

This costs $6, so obviously it's not going to be an amazing product. I hate the big ugly logo, but it's on the bottom, so you never really see it. I just got it today, and so far it's working nicely. My main problem with it is that it's very floppy. I might continue to use it on top of a lap desk or some other hard surface, because it does seem to do a good job of keeping the computer cool.

Nice, minimal cooling pad
It's a simple tool, but it does the job well. My computer is able to get the air flow it needs to stay reasonably cool-ish, and the pad is easy to fold up & carry with me. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the top (the side your computer sits on) is a bit slippery, so the computer will slide off if it's on a steep angle (such as on your knees if you're laying back on the couch). But for the price and simplicity, it's a relatively minor drawback.

Excellent Results for Laptop Noise Reduction!
My small size PC laptop was making quite a bit of noise when I first got it, esp. when the hard drive was processing. The laptop has a large-size hard drive. It also has what I decided is a very noisy fan which ran almost constantly to keep the laptop cool. When I received this pad, I placed it under the laptop on the table I use, and realized the noise decreased. The laptop has become even more quiet as time has passed.I'm really pleased with the results, esp. with the price, since it meant not having to buy and install a better fan!!FYI: Be sure to put the laptop on the honeycomb side, not the back!

It Works
The pad allows air to freely circulate beneath my laptop. So, it makes good on its intended purpose and it does it pretty well too. The pad is lightweight and easily portable. Great price for a product that works as it's supposed to. I'm not sure about longevity yet because I've only had the item for a week or two.

I mostly kept mine because I didn't feel like returning it
I was not a huge fan of this product. I mostly kept mine because I didn't feel like returning it. That being said I do use it everyday, and it does help to keep my legs from getting too hot. I do have to put a pillow case under it when I use it otherwise I end up with little circles imprinted on my legs which can be kind of uncomfortable. It's worth the money though, just not something I would buy again.

it works - its a perfect size for a MBP 15" - at least in that it exactly matches up. But when you use it on your lap, this sort of sags down between your legs and thus ends up being not quite wide enough. But I use this often - and it is nicer than using nothing. Less heat for sure.
