Quiet and good
I had first tried the opal 2.0 and then tried this vevor 37lb nugget ice maker.Using them side by side and making a pros and cons list, I decided the vevor was the machine for me.Firstly, I feel the need to explain to those reviewers who dinged the vevor concerning the uv light. The uv light is a hidden install as it is only for killing bacteria in water, not for illumination. The opal 2.0 DOES have an illumination view light as well as the uv light. The illumination light is a plus and I hope vevor adapts this feature in future machines. The vevor is quiet and produces good tasting nugget ice albeit a bit slower than competitors. The vevor instruction manual is poor and in one instance it states not to use detergent, but it also says to clean with detergent...huh? I am very familiar with most countertop ice machines so know to best clean is with vinegar and water through cleaning cycle.I also only use distilled water in all countertop appliances so expect good tasting ice and longevity of machine.I have an undercounter distilled water pump so the vevor was perfect in that i can plumb the waterline directly into machine eliminating the need for a manual fill. This was a plus over the opal as they do not have a built in leveler or a way to plumb directly. Not impressed with vevor using symbols on display in lieu of wording as I constantly have to reference legend in manual as informative as it is...he states sarcastically. Opal uses wording and their manual is extremely thorough and well laid out.The vevor has an insulated tilt door that allows user to pull out bin and scoop out ice and all water that leaks onto lid from bin goes straight into reservoir keeping countertops clean. The ice does not seem to melt as quickly as the door is insulated.Opal is the messiest ice maker I have ever used as water drips everywhere onto countertop and beyond even with the supplied tray. Bin door has no insulation so ice melts quicker.Opal also has wifi, but it needs much work or just removed so price point is lower which the vevor wins out on as they are $100-200 cheaper. For its few shortcomings, the vevor is the right machine for me thus far. If needed, will update this review.

Does what it says
First of all I like the water inlet option not like the he opal I had before that’s twice the price and you have to fill it with water manually, this one I connected it to my reverse osmosis so I get a continuous clear water, secondly I like the quiet motor when it’s making ice only thing you’ll hear is the ice falling to the basket, now I only gave it 4 stars because of how slow it makes ice, on an empty basket with inline water supply it took 4hrs to fill, I had two others ice makers before and in about 30 to an hr to fill up, another complain is that there’s no light to see inside or when you open the door, other than that it’s a nice ice machine

Great Buy!
This Ice maker is the greatest thing since sliced bread. We love the Nugget Ice. No more having to go buy it from the Fast-food place. I store it in Plastic Gallon zip bags. easier than the 8 lb. ice bags. and can stuff them in smaller spaces. I love to chew Ice and this fills the bill for sure. I use a Zero Pitcher for water and therefore the ice is crystal clear, and my husband says this is the best ice. He was skeptical at first now since he tried the ice, he loves it. He also uses it in a cooler in the summer and says it lasts way longer than regular bagged ice. This was a great buy, regardless of the cost. I hope it lasts for years. I also ordered the cleaner to keep it in top notch condition. Loving it! Getcha one! lol

So far, the best Nugget Ice Maker I have owned.
This is the 3rd Nugget Ice Maker I have owned and ordered from Amazon. The first one was the Opal 1st Build 5 years ago. It stopped working and I ordered another GE Opal and it had problems and I returned it. This time I purchased the Vergo and by far it is the best one. I have it connected to a filtered water line and never have to manually add water to it. It seems to make ice faster than the other models. I like the pull down door which allows the ice bin to rest on while removing ice, the lid allows dripping water to return to the water bin and no messy dripping water on the cabinet. We are enjoying our Nugget Ice once more. By the way, the problem with my first ice maker was due to NOT flushing and cleaning it properly. Scale built up in the lines inside the unit and after I took it apart and cleaned it very well, it is now working again and I gave it to a dear friend who has been enjoying their Nugget Ice now for a couple of weeks. SO..... be sure and clean, clean, clean on a regular basis or your machine may clog up too.

Great machine - but beware of incorrect dimensions!
Amazon incorrectly shows the dimensions are 21.6' high, 20" deep, 21.2" wide. The actual dimensions are much smaller: 16.75" high, 17" deep, 12.2' wide. A smaller device is better! However, before the ice maker arrived, I built out a slide out shelf for a much larger machine!!
