Q: does this fit all the Bahco scraper handles ?

Don’t think so! It’s a scraper in its own rights!

Q: does this need sharpening before use? it does absolutely nothing - another brand i have works just fine.

Yes but you have to use a burnisher along upper and lower of edge to consolidate the metal, then at 90 degrees to the edge to put a burr on the edge, then decrease the angle of burnisher to create a T with rounded “arms” when you view the edge end-on. You then pull the scraper towards you. Nothing like a “wallpaper scraper” when used properly (although you’d be surprised how many people are uninformed!!) Look at Paul Sellers cabinet scraper sharpening video - by far the easiest to understand and really you need the video to visualise as it’s hard to explain in words!!

You can push or pull depending upon which way the wood grain runs.

It isn’t meant to be sharpened. From time to time you square up an edge with a fine file. Then you use a burnisher (a round screwdriver shaft is fine) to create a burr on the edge of the scraper by pressing the burnisher down at a 10° angle and pushing it along the length of the edge a few times. Use your thumb to check the burr has been created. You can create a burr on each side of the edge.
