Scotland History
Well written, full of famous characters and sites. Each of the events that occurred during the history of Scotland is extremely detailed. Can be a real page turner, very hard to put down. Some of history is sad, painful but then most history is that way. Great tour guide for anyone waiting ti Visit the sites where it all happened. A lot of deep info to be had. Great amount of research went into this book. Would recommend to others.

Interesting
I love the work by the History Nerds and this was no exception. Scotland is close to my heart as it's part of my ancestry and knowing where one's and what one's ancestors had done for part of it to arrive here in me. Fascinating.

A hurried recitation of names, places and dates.
This is not an enjoyable book to listen to. Unless you want a hurried recitation of names, dates, and places, this book is a waste of time. Essentially, you will be told the "what" of Scottish history but nothing about the "why." For example, you are told that the nation and economy built by Robert the Bruce after gaining Scottish independence. There is no discussion of how it was built or why it failed so utterly after his death. Additionally, historical figures exist as names only. You will never hear of why the Bruces or any other people are important or what motivated them. Please, find a better source for learning about Scottish history.
