Works perfectly. Standby mode doesnt work.
I got this to make coffee at outdoor volunteer workdays. There's not electric at the park, so I make the coffee in the urn at home, wrap the lid in plastic wrap, and transport it there in the urn. I do wrap the urn in a clean bath towel, because it gets very hot on the outside. This works just like a percolator. It's easy to use and easy to clean. The instructions say there is a standby mode, and the lights have a standby indicator, but there's no way to turn it on and it doesn't come on automatically. I tried leaving it on to see if it would, and all I ended up with was boiled down coffee. Never would go into the standby mode to stay warm, just kept boiling.

Very large and great looking percolator
Sometimes you just need a lot of coffee and this percolator will do the trick. The unit has a nice bright stainless steel body and looks very nice out on a coffee display. The basket/filter fits well and traps most of the grounds without issue and is easy to dump and clean if you need to make more. Not sure what kind of cups they are using as the 113 scale as 17L is around 70 8oz cups of coffee.Heater is fast enough to give you a consistent brew time and hold the pot warm without turning it into McD's style hot lava.My only issue with the setup is that they didn't come with any ratios of coffee to water, so you will need to figure that out for yourself. Try starting with 2cups of grounds for 25 8oz cups or around 6 cups for the max fill of this pot.

Make Coffee for a Crowd
If you have a social or business event where you need to provide coffee for a crowd, this coffee urn works well! It is easy to use and set up. You put the water into the urn, pour an appropriate amount of coffee into the top compartment, and let it get to work! It warms up quickly. The coffee was ready in about 10 minutes. The urn does get very hot so it might need a warning sign to prevent people from getting hurt by touching it. It also needs to cool a while before you can pick it up to clean it.

Full size commercial-style coffee dispenser, does the job
This is a pretty solid coffee brewer/dispenser with all of the essential functionality: relatively quick brewing, keeping warm, and convenient complete dispensing of the liquid inside. I like the workmanship inside and outside, the generous cross-section of the power cable, and the overall pretty solid build of the unit. A couple things that I didn't like: insulation is pretty poor which translates into the dispenser having very hot walls. I took rough measurements with my kitchen thermometer to give you an idea but as you can see it gets simply dangerously hot after boiling. And that is pretty much all the way from top to bottom. On top of that, the lid appears to be not insulated in any fashion so besides being very hot, it does not help with holding the temperature. With all that said, this unit is definitely not even close to be energy efficient, especially if you need to run it all day. Also, during the brewing process, closer to the finish it starts to produce quite a bit of hot steam along with water in all directions under the top lid. Though I understand that is a part of the process of boiling the water, I believe it still could be a bit more manageable than that. Besides that, it is a great unit and does the job rather well. It definitely worth its price, just don't expect it to be as good as a real commercial unit in terms of insulation, energy efficiency, and operation.

A fabulous big urn!
I have wanted a big percolator coffee/hot water urn for a long time, and when I saw this one at a good price, I ordered. It makes a huge amount of coffee, and I do loan it to my church for various functions. They are delighted to use it. I am delighted to have it. It is very easy to use, and can be used as a hot water urn, too, if cleaned well. At home, I use it for hot water for my tea and cocoa. It looks really nice, all shiny and bright. The filter and basket fit well, and it is easy to remove and empty. It makes a big pot fairly fast, considering the quantity--the description says 113 cups--but those are six-ounce cups! It took a few attempts to get the coffee/water ratio down, but it wasn't too difficult. The urn does get very hot to the touch, so some caution is required when it is full, and it does need to cool for a while before cleaning safely. All in all, I am very pleased with it, and would recommend it to anyone who needs to make a large amount of coffee or hot water.
