Modern Classic of the Highest Quality
I've been wanting a soda siphon for quite a while. The reviews for other brands varied and I was slightly apprehensive to buy one. One day I bought an Isi from Williams Sonoma and was very disappointed to discover that the bottle was made from plastic. I looked on Amazon later that day and this siphon by Lovin had JUST been added. I ordered it and I could not be more pleased with it.I use very cold ice water and pour it in the bottle using a funnel after removing the cubes. I then use one 8g cartridge and shake it vigorously for 30 seconds. I then let it rest in the freezer for 10 mins. Then I do a second 8g cartridge.It tastes great and has a pleasant burn in the back of the throats when drinking it. Good seltzer should hurt! Lol*Do not use two cartridges unless the water is VERY cold and you allow it to rest for 10 min allow the gas to be dissolved in the water prior to using the second cartridge. Otherwise, there will be too much pressure and the safety valve will open shooting water every where.

Could be just bad luck or bad craftsmanship
I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because had it not been dead on arrival it was exactly what I was looking for. The head of the siphon, without squeezing the handle, did not seal in the pressure. The minute I added the cartrdige all of the water emptied out on the floor. After cleaning up it was clear that what ever the mechanism is that seals in the pressure, when the operating handle is not applied, was not working correctly.Return label printed. Could be just bad luck or bad craftsmanship. Seems like based on other reviews people are having issues with premature wear as well so I tend to lean towards craftsmanship. At $100 for a glass bottle this should not happen.

Weak soda water.

looks nice but breaks much too easily
despite the great looking heavy glass and mesh bottle, the mechanism is a weak link.I've had two in the last year. in the course of normal usage the triggers on both broke.the first lasted less then two months-- I chalked it up to bad luck and ordered another.the second died after 6 months.
