Skeptical at first
I live in a valley with basically line-of sight to the broadcast antennas on the mountains around us. Over the years I have lived in various locations around the valley with one thing in common, lousy reception. Where I live now I had to move the antenna several times a day to get good reception depending on the channel watched. I was a little skeptical about this antenna, but with all the good reviews and the low price, I thought I'd give it a shot. It apparently came literally on the slow boat from China, took 3 weeks to get here. Then I saw how small it is and I thought this will never work. At first I placed it on the dresser by the TV and it didn't work well. Then I put it on the windowsill as suggested and it works like a charm. Had it 2 weeks and haven't moved it once. Next I will run a scan to see if I get more channels.

Did not work for me
I wanted an antenna so I could pull in local channels and cut cable. I'd tried a leaf antenna in the past with no luck, but this had great reviews so I was hopeful it would work. I loved the idea that it would work indoors, without having to get someone to mount an antenna on our roof and run a line into the house. Installation was super easy...just attach the coax cable to the back of the tv and plug in the USB cord for power. It does not come with a USB power adapter but my tv has a USB port so I was able to plug in there. First I tried locating the antenna on a window ledge and scanned for channels. Zero channels found. The directions said to try locating the antenna higher if not enough channels are found so I moved the antenna to atop a bookcase, still no channels found. Finally I tried moving the antenna outdoors, not ideal but wanted to see what I'd get. This time it found 8 digital stations. But as I went through those 8 stations, only 2 came in clear. The rest were fuzzy and pixelated. I'm disappointed I didn't have success with this but not entirely surprised. Fortunately Amazon is great about returns. I feel ultimately I'll have to get an external antenna if I hope to have any success getting over the air channels in my area.

Helps so much since we cancelled cable
We cancelled cable because we only wanted/needed it to watch local sports. This picks up our local football everytime. We do have to put it out the window for the best picture, but zero issues once doing that. i will say you have to do the TV search twice (maybe) and put the antenna outside if you dont get enough channels picked up. We havent had any issues with lagging or bad quality picture since using this

Cut that cable
This was the 4th antenna that I tried and it works as intended. I am in a suburb of Dallas and can get all of the local channels plus so many more that I never knew existed. I can get the local Fox channel I use the most, very clear. ABC shows most of the football games and that one is a bit more persnickety meaning I have to move the antenna on its side and hope its not windy. Overall I am very pleased and it saves me the $75 a month that I paid for cable when I was only watching 3 local channels. The downfall is that I don't like the cord. Since I have to plug this into the tv and then place it by a window, the cord stretches a bit across the wall. I can't wait for a nice wireless antenna! I will say that I did both a short and long range scan and the long range was better for my situation. I have owned this about 4 months and it is one of the best purchases for the money that I have ever made.

Can't get local channel I want
The Dish and parent company of my local ABC (KSBW) are at war, and the Dish has blocked both ABC channels. This antenna displayed the ABC channels when searching for channels, but does not allow me to view my 2 local ABC channels.. It shows other local ones. They all broadcast from the same mountain top, so I don't know what's happening. The instructions are useless. There is only one place for each of the 2 connections on the TV, so I just plugged in what would fit. The reception is OK, though it often displays that the signal is weak. This is from inside the house. Problem is I don't care about the channels that show! Angry.

It really works
It’s small and does the job!Easy to install and place in any room.We got more stations on a higher location on the 2nd floor of our house. Worked well compared to older bulky antennas!

Junk
Bought this 2 days ago. Paid $30 and it had 4.9 rating with thousands of reviews. Today, $15 with not even a 3star. And it is no wonder. It gives me 2 "local" channels. No Fox channels which is the ONLY reason I bought it. Lies. All lies. Returning immediately.

Great range, got channels on my basement TV!
I was having friends over to watch some NFL games, but rather than watching it in the living room, I wanted to watch the games in our basement, which is my "man-cave" with an area for hanging out by a big TV as well as a home gym.I didn't think it would work, but figured I could try out an antenna and return it if it didn't get reception. To my pleasant surprise I plugged this antenna in and scanned for channels and got all the major channels (2, 4, 5, 7) so I'm able to watch football down there! Some channels did require me to move the antenna around, but thankfully the cord is very long so I was able to move it around a large area to find the best reception area. The bottom of it seems to be magnetic also, so that could potentially help with placement (I'm not sure if it would stick to any studs inside the walls or not though). This antenna is a little pricier than I wanted to spend originally but it's worth it for me to be able to get tv reception in the basement!
