Manufacturer says wear only with dress shoes. Has anyone worn these socks with other footwear?

I only have one pair, but I plan on ordering more. I wore them with my gym shoes—but I wore thin socks when I bought the gym shoes. You don’t want your feet slipping around in the shoe. These socks are very soft and comfortable, I’d try one set to see if it works in your other shoes.

No, I don't believe so. They are stretchy and clingy, but I would not consider them to be compression socks. That being said, I am still happy with this product and I have ordered more in different colors.
