Run don’t walk!!!!
To the stressed cat parent of a kitty that is peeing and popping outside the box, there is hope. My cat was extremely stressed when we moved house and started to pee and poop by the front door. I cleaned the area with enzyme cleaner every time, I put down pee pads and he continues to pee there. I add an additional litter tray and he still owes on the carpet and occasionally poops. I also put down aluminium foil wrap on the spot he was peeing on to deter him and he just went and pooped in a different corner. I bought this product and added it to his litter. I also continued to put down aluminium foil wrap on the spot he was peeing. Next morning no pee or poop on the carpet. 🙏🏼 Three weeks on and happy to report all toileting happens in the litter tray! I still have the foil by my front door simply because I still smell the pee when I put my nose to the carpet and don’t want repeat accidents. Highly recommend this a go if you’re having similar issues of cat not using the litter tray.

Worth a try if cats having accidents!
The litter attractant seems to have worked well, and we haven’t had any accidents since starting using it. Simply mix a generous amount into litter (we have been using it with World’s Best), and it has minimal scent once incorporated. Bag was smaller than we expected for the price, but we still expect it will last about 6 months with two large litter trays for our two cats, so appears to be decent value! It is hard to tell if it is the litter attractant working or simply the cats getting more used to the litter overall, but worth a try if nothing else!

A expensive excitement that didn’t work
It did not entice the cat who wasn’t using the litter box at all and it made the litter far more sticky and messy so that the other cat ends up dragging it everywhere. It’s also very expensive. Absolutely not worth it for us.

Litter
Not sure if this worked or not. We ended up buying the biggest cat litter tray we could find, and that worked.

Sorted out our inappropriate pee problem
For the first few weeks, my kitten Mawri would frequently wee outside the litter tray. It turned out this was because we were using scented litter and she hated it, but before we figured that out, this was a godsend. It works so well that I put a sprinkle on her litter and she raced all the way down the hall with a "WHAT IS THAT I'M GONNA PEE ON IT" look on her face. From then on, we've had no problems. I'd skip the smaller side of the pourer and use the bigger one, otherwise you'll be there all day. It does look a tad like your litter's gone mouldy, what with it being green and herby-looking, but you can always mix it in. All in all, does what it promises to do so well that we didn't even use half the bottle. Recommended.

Really works (but make sure you use unscented litter)
Highly recommend! 48 hours in and the product is working. It's important to note that you must use a 'scent free' litter with the product or it doesn't work. The packaging states do not use with 'paper, wheat, corn, conventional, pine, perfumed, cedar, or litters containing baking soda or other deodorisers'. I tried using it with my usual litter and the cat still pee'd outside the tray. Then I bought Tigerino 'unscented' litter (clay based), added the Dr. Elsey's and hey presto, the cat is using the litter tray. She is a one year old and I've been trying to litter train her since I got her from the shelter 3 months ago. Really pleased that I finally have a solution to the problem.

Hasn't helped us unfortunately.
Firstly we were grateful this was shipped in an Amazon bag as the product bag itself split open in transit, so we essentially received an Amazon bag full of ripped plastic and "herby dust", an expensive mess but mostly usable. Secondly, although our kittens encouragingly sniffed at it, the 6 month old rescue kitten who is not managing to figure out litter box training by himself, Dr Elsey's kitten attract did get him into the litter box in the first place after some weeks of complete refusal to go anywhere near litter of any type, but only for some wees (about 60% success rate) & never for poops. So we had high hopes this product might help but it has made no difference whatsoever. It may be worth a try for you but unfortunately it's not helped us.

Works like a charm!
Thank you Dr Elsey for this litter attract series of products. My elderly cat Lincoln stopped using his litter recently and we tried just about everything. His vet said he was in good health but I guess when we started letting him out in our yard supervised he just very quickly developed a preference for outdoor peeing. But now when the weather isn’t great and he’s stuck inside he ends up peeing just about everywhere other than his litter box. Adding the litter attract to his box worked almost instantly. I added way more than directed - maybe 1-2 cups- while my cat was watching me and within 60 seconds of adding it in he started sniffing around and jumped in and made a huge pee in his litter for the first time in weeks! I could cry I’m so happy. ** don’t punish your cats for peeing outside their box. They are stressed and/or unwell. Take them to a vet and try Dr Elsey***

Definitely attracted the cats to the pans, large sized bottle with a good supply of attractant
Found this stuff after doing an internet search to find out why one of our long time house cats suddenly decided to find a place to pee other than the litter box. For obvious reasons that behavior had to be stopped immediately. We have two indoor cats and three litter boxes (followed the "rule" - one for each cat plus one more) that are scooped out every day. I *very* happy to report that the misbehaving cat is back to using the litter boxes again and zero issues going anywhere else. Success! We did two things: 1) replaced our current boxes with LARGE, DEEP litter pans and filled them very full, 4-5" deep, with litter. Used Nature's Miracle clumping and 2) sprinkled this cat litter attractant into each pan and mixed with the litter. The cat with issues started returning to use to the litter pans after we set up the new large ones, this was a couple days before the attractant arrived. However just to be sure we added this attractant the day it was delivered. I have to say, the day the attractant was added both cats became much more interested in the upstairs pan - which previously was rarely used even before the avoidance issue started (not sure why, but the cats just always liked the two basement pans better). So while it could have been the new pans that helped get the one cat back to using the pans, I have to say that this stuff definitely got both cats using the upstairs pan more often. So for that reason I would recommend this as a litter attractant. The product states to use it with specific cat litter and lists the litter to NOT use it with - e.g. perfumed litters, corn, paper, to name a few. We didn't use it with the recommended litter brand and it seemed to work as an attractant just the same. Not sure if that would be the case for everyone, but that was our experience. Also, the bottle was larger than I expected - so there is plenty of attractant in this 20 ounce bottle. I sealed the container up in a ziplock type bag to store it. As a side note, even though I've owned cats my whole life I can see now why the litter box issue probably developed with the larger cat. Mainly, the pans were too small and not deep enough for the cat to bury everything completely. I figured with cleaning them out every day pan size wouldn't be a problem and these were standard size pans. Well, apparently after awhile it did become a problem. The large pans we have now are about twice the size of our biggest cat and are filled very deep with enough litter that the cats can actually bury their business deep enough that it's not even visible from the top. The only way we even know the cats have been to the pan is their paw prints in the litter. With cleaning them out once a day everything's stayed nice and clean - cats are happy and we're happy.
