Starting off a new series with a bang. The Fury brothers are going to be a wild adventure. Mila is running from seeing what she shouldn't have, and seeks sanctuary in one of the many places the Fury brothers run. Straight into Dante's World, protective alpha hero who works in the shadows to keep those around him safe. They come together in a combustive coupling as they fight to keep Mila safe and find their HEA. As always, beautifully written by Anna, sucks you in from the get go and keeps you immersed the whole way. Cannot wait for more!

3.5* rounded up.I love Anna Hackett's books. She has a way to add action, a good romance and speed into the story.But unfortunately this one comes up short.I don't mind the story line, I don't mind Dante's alpha attitude (this author is one of the few where I like this kind of type) but it's Mila who I just couldn't stand.She is just too bland. I couldn't see any chemistry between her and Dante and I missed the sass and confidence her female characters normally have.To hide in plain side, to try to find out what happened takes guts and she just doesn't show it in the story.There is quite a lot of world building in this story as well, being the first of a new series, but it takes over the general story line and also overcasts any proper development between Dante and Mila. I like the found family set-up and the very different Fury brothers' personalities.I hope the next book brings back more of what I know the author can do instead of jumping on the damsel-in-distress thrope.

Ann Hackett sure knows how to spin a tale. Great drama, romance testosterone men to read about. So Mila is hiding from men who killed her parents and after her to keep her silent. She ends up in New Orleans in club of Dante Fury, he and his blood brothers run and have businesses in warehouse district, she is safe there as a cocktail mixer. Dante had his eye on Mila from start. He doesntmess eoth staff but something was different about Mila.There is an attraction and he knows she is hiding something. Dante wants to help her and protect her so they stage they are daring, she's his woman. The relationship goes on until she is attacked twice so Mila tells her story of why she is hiding. The story is sexy and heart felt.Can't wait to read the rest of Fury brothers story, can see that Colt is already struggling with his assistant in his office environment.

This was my first Anna Hackett book and it certainly won’t be the last. This was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the Fury boys ❤️Colt &Macy’s next, right? 🤞🏼

Loved the storyline, it has drama, angst and romance between Mila and Dante. Mila is working in Dante’s nightclub and he knows she is hiding something, he is attracted to her and when she is attacked outside his nightclub he is determined to get the truth from her, a very sad story. Dante was a foster child after his father was jailed for beating him. He met his ‘brothers’ he met in foster homes that they moved around and were beaten, they all ganged together and changed their surnames to Fury. The start of another brilliant series from Anna so looking forward to the next book out in October. This book I couldn’t put down until I finished it, definitely worth reading.

Your classic girls saved by rich man story. Lacks originality but written well. Lacks spice but does have a HEA

Action, adventure, and spice too. A great first book in the new series. The FM MC is strong, independent and take charge.

Dante and MilaSet in the Hackettverse of Sentinel and Norcross fame, we meet the first in a found family of brothers, based in New Orleans, Louisiana.Dante is a Nightclub and Restaurant owner, and he and his brothers work hard to keep trouble out of their part of the city.So when Dante spies his bartender Mila having a spot of trouble, he steps in to help.Mila is on the run, a witness to something that has put her in the crosshairs of danger. She’s reluctant to trust anyone, or to put them in danger, but ends up turning to Dante for help when it comes calling.Anna Hackett is a gifted writer of fast paced, quick read, romantic suspense; and this book is a good example. There’s action, romance, and- unique to this new series- family time with the Fury ‘found family’.The Fury brothers are an appealing and diverse lot, and it was fun to read about their close relationships, and how they put family first.It was also fascinating to watch as Dante falls hard and fast, denying it all the way. His strength of character, and need to protect made him a very likable hero.Mila was a Woman struggling with grief, guilt, and working hard to dig her way out of an untenable situation. She showed a great deal of strength, and it was enjoyable watching her strength grow as she became more determined to seek justice.All in all, an absorbing read from Anna Hackett, and a promising start to this new series. It’s a great read for Hacketteers, but also a good one for fans of romantic suspense. Although it is set in the Hackettverse, and we did meet the brothers briefly in the Sentinel Security series, it’s not necessary to have read any of the other series first.

I have been a fan of anna's books. The series are so well crafted you want to complete them in a one go. It's an amazing start to a new series. The book as usual includes alpha protective hero and sassy fearless heroin. The best part about the books written by anna is, there is always a family concept. It just makes it a thousand times better. The plot always includes a warmth of family even though not blood related.
