My son wanted this for Halloween. After reading many reviews, I honestly wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It does come flat and in 2 pieces. There is sticky tape to connect the 2, but I didn’t want to risk it coming apart while he was wearing it, so I used my hot glue gun on the lowest setting and am very pleased with how it’s holding together. The lights can be off, on steady or on flashing. My only regret is that we didn’t order the light up gloves to go with it!

I purchased this for my son for Halloween. Worked fine, although the battery connection was a little loose and light up was inconsistent, but my husband was able to secure it so that it would work for trick-or-treating.

The media could not be loaded.  This is an unbelievably cute Halloween mask for kids or adults! The mask is made from a light-weight foam material & comes divided into 2 pieces with a strip of adhesive foam tape. You know the craft foam kids use in school? That’s what it feels like, only thicker. The inside has a mesh black fabric covering the eye & mouth slits. These are outlined in tiny, colored LED lights attached to a battery back requiring 3 AAA batteries. It’s operated by a switch that has the option of off, flash or on. Some assembly is required. You remove a strip of paper to reveal adhesive along the inside, top portion of the mask. This is where the “cap” piece of the mask attaches. I just started in the middle & rolled outward very slowly. The adhesive holds well without peeling away. Once I reached the back, the 2 flaps overlapped by about 1.5”. For a smooth transition, I used a utility blade to cut away the excess. Enabling the flaps to meet at the seam. At this point, you attach the foam tape. It covers both the outside & inside of the seam. The tape was also a bit too long by about 2”. Initially, I just folded it over top but didn’t like the look of it, so I trimmed it as well. I’m a bit of a perfectionist. My OCD just couldn’t take it 🤷🏻‍♀️ lol. It’s not required to trim the tape. Although, without cutting away the excess foam on the back of the mask, you have an uneven surface for the tape to stick to & I’m not sure how well it would hold. Upon first opening, it did have a strong chemical odor. Like, burn your nose strong 😖. So, I’d recommend letting it air out for a few hours or it’s intolerable. My son wouldn’t wear it longer than a few seconds before having to take it off. The smell does dissipate over time. Also, because it arrives folded, it does have a smushed appearance. You can’t tell all that much from the front but definitely can from the sides. I set mine on top of a small lamp shade to hold its round shape until time to wear it. My son is 11 & we were both able to slide this mask on/off comfortably. This became more of a craft project than I would have liked. I took a star away for the length of the mask not aligning with the circumference of the cap & being squished. I’m not sure I’ll ever get it perfectly round. The finished product is still very cute. It’s comfortable & breathable. My son is excited to wear it.

This mask was cheaply made. It's made from thin foam and when you put it together it is all bent up from the way it was packaged. It's also definitely not made for adults because it's small.

The media could not be loaded.  So, I got this mask inspired by the DJ artist Marshmello, even though I don't know much about him. But what caught my eye was the whole concept of a simple mask with these cool flashing LED lights. I decided to order it for a potential Halloween costume and to see what all the buzz was about. When the mask arrived, I was surprised to find it completely flat, but that wasn't a dealbreaker for me. It came with a foam helmet, a round piece for the top of the head, and a long strip of white tape. Unfortunately, there were no instructions included, so I had to check out the product description on the website, which gave me a vague idea of how to put it together. After assembling it, I noticed that the mask wasn't perfectly round; it had more of an oval shape. Also, it turned out to be slightly smaller than I had expected, but luckily, it fit my big head just fine. When I first put it on, it sat nicely on my head, but after a few minutes, it started to get a bit uncomfortable. On the plus side, it's breathable, and you can see through it easily. However, it did start to chafe a bit on my forehead and cheeks. The LED lights worked just as they were supposed to, but be prepared to provide your own 3 AA batteries because none are included. One thing to note is that when the lights are on, it can get a bit tricky to see clearly through them since they're quite bright. So, if you're walking around with the mask on, be cautious. Lastly, the strip of tape provided to hide the back seam wasn't very adhesive, so you might want to use a stronger glue, like a glue gun, for a more secure fit.Overall, the Rercarre Halloween LED DJ Mask offers an intriguing concept for costume enthusiasts. While the initial surprise of its flat arrival and the absence of instructions were minor setbacks, It provided a secure fit. The mask became somewhat uncomfortable over time due to chafing on the forehead and cheeks. the mask is breathable and offers good visibility. The LED lights are impressive, are exceptionally bright. Lastly, the provided tape to conceal the back seam is not very adhesive, suggesting the need for a stronger adhesive. The mask has its unique appeal but comes with certain considerations and nuances. With some adjustments and additional effort, it can make for a standout addition to a costume collection. Above Average. B+
