Beautiful leather portfolios, well crafted & sturdy, great price!
I ordered a portfolio in black on my first purchase which I use for taking the Sunday sermons in church and Bible study notes. This is my second purchase of a Royce item and this time I ordered the British Brown color and it is absolutely stunning. This beautiful leather portfolio is well made and sturdy. It appears to be smug and smear resistant which is a great perk. It has a place for several resumes on the left side, two side by side slots for your identification and a few business cards, with a second slot above both of those to hold a few pages. On the right side of the portfolio there is room to insert replaceable legal pads for taking notes. There is even a slot in the fold to hold a pen so you don't have to search for one while in meetings. I went on my interview today at 2 pm and felt like I was the lead interviewer of the three people who interviewed me.. Having such a fabulous portfolio gave me the confidence and charisma while answering the interview questions and I know I got the position!!! I believe this is a great price for this item and recommend buying them if you're in need of a great portfolio. I will be ordering a third in a different color to be able to switch and match them with my handbags as an ensemble.

It's not an expense, it's an "investment".
Step 1: Take classy Royce padfolio to job interviewStep 2: Get jobStep 3: ProfitI'd applied for several jobs without success. Then, I ordered a Royce padfolio and it arrive right before my interview. I slipped several resumes inside and took it with me to the interview. I received an offer about a week later. The only difference I can find between all my unsuccessful interviews and the one that landed me a job was the Royce padfolio. I have to give credit where credit is due.I have no doubt that the finely crafted leather, the quality construction and the up-market look did their part to present me in a positive light. No doubt the interview panel was intrigued by the endless possibilities of fine documents, and scholarly notations contained therein.I use a thin Cross pen (engraved with my name, of course) because it seems to fit in the fold without adversely affecting the closing of the padfolio. You can also fit a larger, fancier pen in the slot but I haven't done so yet.Pros:Comes in a very handsome presentation box. They offer a complementary leather luggage tag if you write a product review on Amazon (does not have to be a "positive" review) which is cool. Sufficient space for holding handouts and similar items you might acquire at meetings.Cons:I wanted the regular Royce (non Aristo) padfolio but it didn't come in British Tan. I'm not sure why as it's the only color not in both product lines. I was concerned that it would be too glossy, like patent leather or something; but that wasn't the case. I do like the British Tan a lot.ID holder is a little snug and I wish there would have been slots for additional business cards I can collect/distribute at meetings.

Simple and Professional
A very handsome and professional padfolio, with clean stitching and a simple appearance. The leather feels stiff and the pockets are very tight (holding only paper and nothing any thicker). The pen holder is very elegant in its simplicity. If you're searching for a no frills, simple and professional looking padfolio, this is the one.

Pretty great!
I ordered this padfolio in the cognac color to replace a similar one I have used for the past three years. This is a very pretty padfolio, especially for the price and the color is gorgeous. My only complaint, and the reason for four stars, is that the front and back have a raised section that extends out a couple of inches. Meaning, if you put a piece of paper on top of the padfolio to write, it has an uneven surface. Otherwise, it's a great padfolio and I would recommend!

Maybe better to get an actual leather one.
This is an update after a full semester of use.I'm a student with an internship. I also like to take notes and need to carry around documents in my daily life. I liked the idea of having a single folio to do all these things with. I also liked the idea of using legal pads instead of notebooks. It's still an okay investment. I'd caution a prospective buyer to consider a genuine leather item, rather than this bonded portfolio. I say this because after just 4 months, the "leather" has begun to crack on the folds and seams. In fact, the cracks showed up after a month of use. I thought that with this plastic construction that it would be more durable. Not so. The "leather" is still soft and supple, and it still does the job, but the cracks are clearly evident. This, combined with the fact that the sides don't line up when the folio is closed makes me lower my review from four to two stars.I'm thinking to myself: should have bought a leather one from etsy.

Beautifully understated and elegant
I ordered this in British Tan, and I'm happy to report that it has the perfect amount of shine and texture. With its stitching, feel in hand, and solid weight, this looks and feels like a padfolio that would cost much more. Best of all, the Royce Aristo doesn't have any distracting logos, unlike some other padfolios in this price range. My only quibble (and it's a minor one) is that it's completely symmetrical top-to-bottom, so I occasionally open it upside-down. But I'd rather live with that than an obnoxious logo or a bulky clasp. This has 5 document pockets inside: 3 letter-sized, one for business cards, and one for index cards. Also, a spine pocket to clip pens into.If you're gifting this, don't bother with any wrapping; it comes in a similarly elegant box with a rubber-banded silver "ribbon". Time will tell if this holds up, but brand new, this is a great purchase for anyone.Pros: Well-made; beautiful texture and color (British Tan); no logos; plenty of pocketsCons: None, really
