What size is the brim?

Correct size.. for being “complete” It’s just right..it’s timeless....

Does the hat belt come off?

No, I ordered all four of these hats a few days ago, and the braid on the ones I received do not come off. The braid is glued on. Also, if you notice closely, you will notice that the braid on the baby blue hat is around the whole perimeter of the hat, which I LOVE. I only wished all of the hats had braid completely around the hats. Hope this was helpful.
