A great alternative to the original fluorescent lamp but not an exact drop-in replacement.
I have a very old wall mount bench lamp that includes an Edison base socket for a standard incandescent bulb and a T9 Circline lamp. The old fluorescent lamp was getting dim and due for replacement so I thought it might be time for an upgrade. I had already replaced the screw base bulb with an LED.This is a bypass lamp meaning it does not need the old ballast and starting circuit that the fluorescent requires. That means you will have to disassemble your old fixture and modify it to work with the new LED lamp. That's not a complicated task, but if you aren't comfortable with electrical wiring you might want to skip this or have someone who is capable do the job for you.Since my old fixture was pretty ancient - 35+ years old to be exact - it was pretty beat up and ugly. So I totally disassembled, cleaned, and repainted it. At the same time I ripped out the old wiring and replaced it with new. I also removed the ballast and tossed it out. The new LED lamp comes with a new prewired socket, well organized, and labeled so you can't mess up the wiring. I checked the original push-button power switch and found it would work perfectly in the new application. All I needed to do was to disconnect the wires relating to the old momentary contact starter circuit. The new LED lamp seems a bit bigger than the original fluorescent and its plastic instead of glass. The lamp holder on this fixture consists of three springy fingers that grip the lamp. It was a bit harder to get the new lamp to snap in place, partially because of the slight size difference and partially because the plastic isn't as slippery as the glass was. But it did fit perfectly after some fiddling. The new lamp is far brighter than the old, even with a new fluorescent lamp. It's nice to just press the button once to switch it on and off rather than having to go through the old startup routine. I'm very happy with this upgrade.Note that the weight is different between this and the original lamp. In my case that meant the spring balance feature on my fixture was too powerful and the lamp wanted to move up all the time. I removed two of the four springs holding the fixture up and the balance was perfect. Often these fixtures have tension adjustments that may be able to compensate for this.

Great Value for the Price and Easy to Install
These circular LEDs worked great to replace our circular fluorescents. I replaced one in each of two bathrooms, and the entire process of bypassing the ballast and attaching the new wires took less than ten minutes. They fit perfectly with the existing 8" mount. The brightness is a little less than I would have expected, but that works fine for a toilet since it is not blinding at night, and the vanity lights can be used separately. Very happy with this purchase and the price.

Poor quality
I purchased two of these to replace the round florescent bulbs in my kitchen light fixture. Wiring was easy, but you need to know what you are doing. One of the LED bulbs worked fine but the other was defective (only a part of it would light up sometimes, at other times it wouldn't light up at all). Amazon made it easy for me to get a replacement but then the one that was working started to intermittently dim and get brighter. Bottom line, I do not recommend this and wished that I had gotten a different brand.

GREAT!
The first order of this bulb included the wrong connector, and I immediately sent it back, not knowing the problem, only that it tripped the breaker when turned on.The next day,I received an email telling me how to rewire the plug to correct the problem, but I had already sent it backSubsequently,I gave a not-so-good review of this product. If I had waited another day,I could have corrected the problem.(Which simply required swapping two wires on the connector)Anyway,I reordered another set of these lights (the 12" and the 8") and I am happy to report that they are GREAT!Very bright, and do not suffer the dimness of the fluorescent tubes in cold weather.Instant on,and so bright I could have used just one of them.My wife loves them too,and her kitchen has never been so well lit. Thanks for a great product.!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I I ordered 2 more of the Circline replacement LED's for my bathroom, because the 2 I put in my kitchen were awesome. They arrived quickly and were well packaged. They worked flawlessly with no problems.A 5 minute job to get fantastic lighting!Overall, a great product.!

Works great as a replacement for old style circaline bulbs...
The ballast failed in a magnifying lamp I use and after pricing ballasts decided to switch to LED. This ended up less expensive than a new ballast. Installation was easy - the supplied 4 pin adapter made it simple to connect. I gave four stars for install because the tube is slightly smaller inside diameter than the FL tube so I had to modify the mounting somewhat to get it to fit. Also - there were no wire nuts included to join the old and new wires together - I had some of these in my shop but if you don't it'll be another trip to the hardware store. This bulb is bright! Easily as much light as the old tube provided but much more uniform output. The light color is perfect for use at a workbench or for reading - right between the overly blue of some LED bulbs and the too orange LED's that try to look like incandescent bulbs from the past. I've been using it a week or so and would highly recommend it. As long as it lasts a few years it represents an excellent buy.I've not used this brand before - but in typical Amazon fashion they reached out to make sure all went well. So far I'm happy with the purchase - other than the slight difficulty in mounting it. I was not paid or otherwise compensated for this review...

Ideal para lamparas con lupa
Queda perfecta y fácil de instalar, solo tomar en cuenta quitar el balastro si es que se sustituye tubo de alógeno, tambien se requieren campanas aislantes para unir cables.

easy wiring
like the others noted - the instruction drawing is lacking some detail.here's what I did .shut off the power at the panel.don't cut any wires !my ceiling fan had a black and a white wire from the main housing, these each had a connector that I disconnected. these 2 wires lead into the ballast. the ballast had 4 wires coming out and into a plastic plug that plugged onto the 4 pins of the flouro circline bulb. Don't cut these off either!Remove the ballast ( mine had 2 screws ) and the 4 wire connector and the black and white wires come with it.seperate the plastic ballast housing to reveal the circuit board. look at the board where the 4 wires are soldered on , you should see 1-2-3-4 and clearly they are 2 pairs. mark one pair on the wire insulation so you can identify which pair was together on the circuit board and then snip the 4 off the board , leaving the plastic 4 pin connector on the other end. - cut the black and white wire off their connections in the ballast also. Now you have a 4 pin conector with 2 pairs of wires and 2 connecting wires ( in my case with quick connectors ) to attach to the main leads from the fan housing like they were previously.Pigtail one pair of wires to the white and the other pair to the black. this corresponds to the unclear drawing instruction sheet . use a wire marrette or heat shrink to do a proper job and youre done. the 4 pin connector can only go on the bulb in one direction so connect it and try it out.

LED Replacement
Light worked fine after some serious modifications. Technical support was poor. Be aware of the inner measurements when ordering this lamp
