simple ingredients, much longer shelf life than regular bananas!
I love banana chips but was looking for a healthier alternative (i.e., without all the added fat from being fried in palm oil). I saw these and thought I'd give them a try. They're definitely not banana chips, but they do have a complex and interesting flavor -- like bananas, only concentrated, so a bit more tart than you might expect (which makes sense, since all the water has been removed). The texture is pretty similar to other freeze-dried foods -- a bit crunchy, but gets softer once these pick up a little moisture. If you eat these dry, they have a bit of a tendency to stick in your teeth, so be aware of that. (However, they are definitely more convenient than real bananas if you just want a snack -- they won't turn brown on your kitchen counter!) I also tried them in oatmeal. I think I liked, but didn't love, the texture after they'd been soaked in water a bit. Other people may have different feelings, though. (I think because the pieces are fairly big -- at least 1/4 inch thick, if not thicker -- it takes a little while for the centers of the slices to soak up liquids, which makes the outside softer than the inside if you're using them in cereal.)Overall, definitely glad I tried these. I love the taste and the simplicity of the ingredients list.

Love these!!!
My family loves these! They are so versatile and can be added to loads of things. The funny this that once they reconstitute they have the slimy texture of fresh bananas! I have enjoyed both the blueberries and bananas from this brand. I see myself being a repeat customer in the future.

Pretty Good Snack
Got'ta admit I had reservations about trying freeze dried bananas, but these are really good. Taste like a regular raw banana, which is what they are supposed to do I guess. Should be good for you as well as good to you which is supposed to be a plus! I suppose!

Perfect for older babies
I used to get the Gerber freeze dried bananas for my kids, then found Trader Joes freeze dried bananas. These are even better, and they're organic. I snap them into smaller pieces for my one year old. We use them as after dinner treats for the kids.

super great healthy snack
I can't keep these in my house with my kids-they love them, and I do also. I wish the package had more in it! Great product! Best Value I have found for the price...

Chiquita Who?
I typically cannot eat a banana without peanut butter! I don't know if its the consistency or the taste but bananas truly do repulse me. Now, freeze-dried bananas are a whole other story! The crunch makes eating so enjoyable! It is a new experience completely different to a brown mushy banana. These are a great snack to have in the mornings at work and throughout the daily. I also love love the mangos, these are my favorite but I wanted to share my thoughts on my love-hate relationship with Mr. Chiquita!

GREAT in Oatmeal and for travel
I enjoy half a fresh banana in my oatmeal every morning for breakfast. But sometimes the bananas have to be eaten before I can get to the store again. And sometimes I travel and want my real breakfast on the road. These dried bananas are great and when they reconstitute in the oatmeal, they taste just like fresh bananas! So, when I travel, I prepackage my rolled oats, flaxseed meal, freeze dried bananas and raisins in baggies and then I can just add water or apple juice and microwave. Perfect breakfast on the go! Each bag has the equivalent of 4 bananas, so that's more than a week of breakfasts for me.

Yum
I love these. They do get stuck in your teeth pretty badly, but the have a satisfying crunch similar to the dry marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal.
