It is a little hard to engage and then unengage once placed in the door. However it does give you two sizes to choose which fit is best. I actually use 2 one in my deadbolt and one in my doorknob. But this one is the better one…it is larger and seems to fit my deadbolt better.

I really like this thing. I bought it for a work trip to Baltimore but wasn't able to use it, sadly. This thing is sturdy and doubles as a defense weapon. It worked on my apartment door like a charm, but I stayed at a Comfort Suites where it didn't work. Their deadbolt was too close to the plunger piece that goes into the door frame so neither side of this tool worked. Other than that, this was still a great buy. ALSO TSA FRIENDLY, which I was happy about before I got sad about it not working.

I got this just to try it out for when I stop on long road trips. I thought it would be an easy way to add some extra protection. I do think it works alright but it isn't as sturdy as I had hoped. I feel like it someone wiggled the door know hard enough it would knock this device loose. Also, the instructions are not very good. It does give a little piece of mind and add a deterrent to anyone trying to break in but it would not stop someone 100% from getting in.

Purchased for our college student to use to secure the apartment door. Works great and is easy to use once you have practiced a little with the install. Even with an old beat up apartment door jam, it fits and secures the door nicely. I tested it thoroughly and am happy how it tightened the door up and wouldn't let me open up the door even with forcing it. Like that it is all metal, not a combination of metal and plastic.

I got this as an extra precaution for my home and hotel use. My home is older so it was a bit of a pain to get it settled into the right grooves and lock but once it was in it worked perfect. I tried opening my door and kicking it in from the outside and it held perfectly. The lock handle doesn't budge when fiddled with so even if my glass was broken the intruder still couldn't open the door easily.

I never got to properly use these. They didn't keep my door closed no matter how much I manipulated them. I even tried it in a different location on a different door and had the same issue. I didn't like it. Maybe it was just me, though.

I felt safe when I stayed at the hotel this time knowing that the security door lock was in place! It was easy to use and very affordable. A great investment indeed!

The media could not be loaded.  So I'm a flight attendant, but I thought this would be useful for anyone traveling solo. Last week a male housekeeper dressed in regular street clothes tried to get in my room twice. I had the deadbolt lock on, but some how his key unlocked it. Mind you I'm still in the room sleep. This is sturdy, easy and does work.
