SISU Aero Mouthguard - Medium, Awesome Aqua

These 1-star reviews and photos of mangled mouthguards are clearly from people who didn't read instructions and did it wrong! We tried 2 other products before this one for my 9 year old son. Others were terrible fit, literally tore up his mouth. This one was SO easy. It took us 3 tries to get the perfect fit, only because of our learning curve with it. First try my water just wasn't hot enough it was too firm to mold. Second try he molded a bit off-center (you know, he's 9 and it takes a little practice). Third time was perfect. He loves that it stays in his mouth and doesn't hurt. I love that he's not chewing it to bits or tearing up his gums like the others that were the same price as this one! Will be buying more.

As a parent of a competitive lacrosse player, finding a mouthguard that is both protective and actually wearable has been more of a journey than expected. My daughter tried several other brands before settling on the SISU Aero Medium Mouthguard, and the difference was immediately noticeable in comfort and usability. The first thing we appreciated was how low-profile it is compared to traditional bulky mouthguards. It allows her to communicate clearly on the field and breathe more naturally, which is critical during fast-paced play. Unlike other guards that feel restrictive or constantly need adjustment, this one stayed in place and became something she didn’t constantly fight against during games and practice. A major advantage we discovered during the season was its moldability. Mid-season, my daughter got braces, which typically would have meant buying a completely new mouthguard. Instead, the SISU Aero allowed us to reheat and reshape it to accommodate her shifting teeth and orthodontic changes. That flexibility alone made this product worth it for us, especially given how often teeth positioning changes during orthodontic treatment. Protection has remained solid throughout lacrosse play. While it feels thin compared to traditional guards, it still provides confidence during unexpected contact situations. More importantly, it has not interfered with her performance, breathing, or communication on the field. Durability has also been impressive considering it has been reshaped due to braces adjustments. It continues to hold its form well after repeated use and reshaping cycles, which is not something we experienced with other brands that degraded quickly or lost fit. Overall, this mouthguard has been a practical solution for an athlete in a changing dental situation. It is especially useful for players who may undergo orthodontic changes during a season, or who simply want a lighter, more breathable alternative to traditional bulky mouthguards without sacrificing protection.

Fits my 11 year old son. We like the product, it is high quality. It has a slim fit and is comfortable. It took us a few tries to get it soft enough to fold to fit. But once fitted it works great.

Perfect for braces! I originally ordered the Shock Doctor because it doesn't need to be molded, but it still holds a firm shape that doesn't fit my mouth with the turbos and hardware I have. I brought this one to my adjustment and they applied a thick tube of wax across the brackets on the teeth that are being actively moved, anchoring it mainly to the roof of my mouth and molars. The process was really fast as well, so my office doesn't have a problem remolding it every adjustment to ensure it doesn't hinder treatment. The fit is perfect on the bite even though it's slightly bulky in the front from the extra space. I love that I can still drink water with it in so I can use it during the day if I start clenching my jaw. My only complaint is that it's not very long. I have a pretty small mouth, I'm a short woman, and I have all of my 4s removed but its not long enough to cover the back 1 and 1/2 molars. This works fine for now but might not be ideal for people with all teeth touching who grind their back molars.

As a person formerly in the dental field, this product is certainly not worth 20 bucks at all. The shaping is cumbersome so I had to use my former life's skills to "round" out the curves that stick out to make it more comfy. After 4 tries, I got it to an acceptable form which is still a little loose but overall the arch shape is there. If you had a mold of the arch - then at least you have an easier time to reheat and cool but while on the model - winging it in the mouth is frustrating. Use boiled water in a bowl and about 30 secs is just about the perfect balance between softening and handling. Best you can do is first mold the basic shape. Once set, keep the child biting down and look at how much you have to work to round out at the curve and then curl the back up to cover 1/3 of the cheek-side crown of the teeth. That's what will be the 2nd, 3rd and likely 4th to add finishing touches. Trying to isolate and dip the sections you want to "perfect". Maybe it's me trying to get office quality mold but if you're not good with this stuff, then look for a pre arched one and not this flat one. I only got this because it was "recommended" by the coach but from my view - not good. Best option but most expensive is the dentist, but replacing broken teeth is much much more so weigh the options. I gave it a shot, this is my review for what it's worth....

Returning. Difficult to mold which we ruined one ao this one is going back before we open it.
