This part of the SABRE security system is pretty good. It seems to work when I test it and it works as a deterrent as it is seen from the outside. Not a fan of the SABRE system as a whole as it is much more difficult to program than the camera systems on the market now.

Not very loud at all. Quite tolerable to stand right next to it when going off. Not much of a security device - nobody outside your house will hear it unless you are in an apartment or condo. Smash the glass then switch it off - and smashing the glass would be much louder than the alarm. It should be much harder to turn off. I'd say it's about 80% as loud a standard home smoke detector - maybe a bit more than that but not as loud as they are.But it will alert you if you are home and someone hits a window hard enough or breaks glass.Installation is 5 seconds max. Cutting the package open is the hardest part. Otherwise, remove battery tab, then peel & stick.One 'oops' from my install - I placed one each dead center on both sections of our sliding glass patio doors. There isn't enough clearance for the part that slides open over the fixed part to clear the sensor. So opening the door far enough let the sliding door hit the sensor on the fixed door and set it off. So for that application, place one where ever you want on the sliding door, but go all the way into a corner of the fixed door so the only way you will accidentally set it off is by opening the sliding doors as far as possible - which you typically wouldn't do.The easiest way to test and hear the alarm is to just lightly tap the glass with a coin. That will easily make the correct vibration to set the alarm off.Some reviews criticized it for not going off from slamming the window or dropping the sensor on the floor. Those things aren't supposed to set it off. Just raising the window - even if that means forcing it open - won't set it off. It's 'looking' for the vibration frequency that glass makes when it breaks - not motion or any type of impact.Another thing to consider - it scares the crap out of my dog. He isn't a guard dog by any means and offers no deterrent. But if you do have a protective dog who would act aggressively toward an intruder and this makes him go the other way because he hates the noise, it might be better to not use this & have your dog chew on the intruder instead.

Though I am typically an optimistic person, when I first saw these glass alarms made available through Amazon I wasn't sure they were something I would be interested in---or quite frankly something that would work.I got them through the Vine program, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. You get two of them, which works well because we have two sets of glass doors at my mom's home. They are easy to activate. All you have to do is take out the protection around the batteries in each and turn them on, stick where you want them and that's it.Some I have tried before are too sensitive and thus annoying to deal with. Not the case with these. If you put enough force on the glass---and of course that is exactly what an intruder would be doing---it will definitely go off....and it is LOUD. Even on the lower setting it is sure to get everyone's attention. That is what you want for sure.This product looks unassuming but it is powerful and works well. Something that will be a great addition to your home as you work to keep it and your family safe.

Purchased a pack of 2. Placed them on my sliding glass door. There is a test button both worked and were very loud. You could switch a button to low but why would you? I have been robbed in CA multiple times but never in my new state. Recently watched Richard Ramirez the night stalker on Netflix. Brought me right back to reliving events. He entered through sliding glass doors.

After an attempted break in, I decided to get these alarms. I can say no one has attempted anything since I put them up but not sure how much these things have to do with that. The sound is not nearly as loud as I thought, but it would probably be enough to scare someone off. I doubt it would alert any of my neighbors though. Anyway, these came with batteries, which is nice, and they were very easy to apply. I really like the little warning on the underside that any potential trespassers would see. I think that alone would make them think twice. They are also very sleek, so it's not an eyesore on my window. Overall, I think these are a good low-cost solution for an all too common problem.

Siren volume is not so loud, but given the battery it is probably about as loud as one could expect given the size/power. The ceiling alarm (motion sensor ceiling alarm) is much louder, but obviously bigger with higher powered batteries. I am using on an RV door (window glass) as a theft deterrent...not quite the intended use, but it works mostly. My thought was if someone tried to crow-bar the door or bust the glass it would pick-up and deter possibly. The sensitivity seems about right on "high." Alarm doesn't go off if door is shut as normal, but if slammed then it typically goes off (not 100% of time, but usually). Hard to test with real glass breaking obviously. Overall good value for price.

It's extremely hard to make it go off; the only way I found is to drop it from 1 inch high onto a hard surface, and that's in the high sensitivity setting. Any other kind of knock or strike won't do. I found no way to make it go off once it's installed in the window (I'm not willing to risk smashing the glass). Doesn't inspire me much confidence. I have the Doberman alarms in other windows and those are easy to set off on purpose, and yet they never went off with wind alone in a false alarm (we live in a 3rd floor). The Doberman are not as loud, though.

Excellent design. However not as loud as stated and not sensitive enough to detect large bangs on our patio doors. Had to tap the actual alarm before it sets off even when on high sensitivity. It's as loud as a microwave beep but continous, which I guess is less annoying but does nothing to scare anyone off. Our cats don't react to it!

Sensitivity is lacking. Or maybe it was designed as such to avoid the slightest knock on the door to set it off. But as far as I can tell, the B&E perp needs to hit directly within inches of the alarm to set it off. By that time he/she is in the house. More a visible deterrent. I think a mix of different strategies to deter kraken heads from even trying is the best system. i.e. door fortification, extra deadbolt, signs and stickers, multiple cameras (real or fake, cctv or cloud enabled, surveillance doorbell, sirens connected to motion detectors, motion detector enabled flood lighting around the house, a high fence. If they want in, they'll get in.

Not too bad for the money, but more of a deterrent in my opinion. Which is OK too.Place carefully before sticking to glass as you really only get one shot at it! Very sticky adhesive.

the triggering mechanism within this device is not very sensitive .The window would have to literally be broken before this device went off. I am not sure it would go off even if the window was broken.

It’s ok only if you want to scare people away. Buy it always start beeping for no reason
