I did it in two applications. Seemed easy enough. Color match was easy and stuff went on great. Used provided Mylar but was too small so I had part that it didn’t cover. Where it covered it was a smooth glossy finish. Perfect. Where it didn’t looked terrible. So the instructions say you can use waxed paper. What it doesn’t say is you will get a dull rough finish as the waxed paper doesn’t work that well. If you have a bigger area, go get a larger piece of the Mylar before you begin. Not sure what to do now with a terrible looking patch.

I was able to apply a small gelcoat patch using this kit, but it has a very short working time (MAYBE 10-15 minutes?) and it's difficult to apply smoothly. I was applying to an area ~2" tall x 5" wide, so my use case may not have been optimal; the end result is just OK. Color match was achieved.I don't have experience with gelcoat, so that may also have been a factor.

Great product. Got all the hair up from my jeep floors

Barely had enough color to mix to make grey. Nonstick tape stuck. Had to wet sand spot with 1500 grit then use polishing compound.

All good except tube of white pigment had little/no content (other pigments, polyester, and hardener were fine). Hard to mix white/off-white gel coat with nothing in the white pigment tube. Contacted seller and they wanted me to "send photos of my project", seriously clueless. Avoid buying here, go to West Marine - they have no issue replacing a defective product.

This is completely useless as they mistakenly forgot to add the hardener. I got a tube of gelcoat paste and 6 color agents (that I don’t need because it’s a white boat), but no hardener.Utterly useless. Don’t plan your day around this kit.
