Strap in and hold on, You wont break this one!
I’ll never forget the day I realized I needed a proper saltwater rod. I was out on the water with my old, flimsy rod, chasing a fish that felt like it had ambitions of pulling me into another time zone. The rod bent like a spaghetti noodle, and before I knew it—snap! The fish got away, and so did my dignity. That’s when I decided to upgrade to the Burning Shark Jigging Rod—and boy, was that the right call! Here’s why this rod is a total game-changer:Unmatched Strength and Durability: This rod is a tank! It’s built to handle heavy-duty offshore trolling and jigging. I’ve reeled in some serious fighters, and this rod handled them with ease, never showing signs of strain.Precision and Control: The design allows for incredible control, even with big fish. It’s sensitive enough to detect subtle bites but powerful enough to handle aggressive runs.Comfortable to Use: The ergonomic grip makes long fishing trips much more comfortable. No hand fatigue here, even during those epic battles.Great for Saltwater: This rod is clearly designed to thrive in the harsh saltwater environment. The materials resist corrosion, so it stays in great shape even after repeated exposure to the elements.Sleek Design: Not only does it perform like a pro, but it also looks the part. The rod’s design is sleek and modern, catching as much attention as the fish do.Excellent Value: For the price, this rod offers premium performance. It’s a fantastic investment for anyone serious about saltwater fishing. Thanks to the Burning Shark Jigging Rod, I’ve reclaimed my dignity on the water and even landed some personal bests. If you’re ready to stop losing battles to the big ones, this rod is a must-have. Highly recommend!

Not just for ocean fishing
I ordered this after reading a review about using this rod for catfish. I plan to use this for flathead catfish on a medium size river with many timber snags. The largest fish are over 50 pounds, and a heavy rod and 80 pound test line are needed. In addition to flathead catfish, there are other freshwater species where a rod of this type might be useful, for example, sturgeon, blue catfish, and alligator gar. It’s December at the time of this review, and the flatheads are dormant until spring. I’ll update this review if I find the rod does not work, but this could be an interesting holiday gift for an angler catching large freshwater fish in snaggy areas.I am not sure how this will work for my intended use, but I have lost some nice fish when my rod was not strong enough to keep them out of snags. The ones that get away are the ones I remember most vividly. I always release the large fish, and bringing them in quickly gives them a better chance of survival since they are not totally exhausted after a long fight. One advantage of this rod is the reel seat uses two rings to secure the reel to the rod. Two rings are less likely to loosen up than a single ring.It has a spigot ferrule. The two sections do not join closely together, and that’s intended with spigot ferrules. I don’t have any opinion on spigot ferrules, but the Web has some discussions from anglers and rod builders. If you have any concerns about spigot ferrules, I’d suggest searching for them on the Web.It has a gimbal on the butt, so you can use a fighting harness. A gimbal keeps the rod from twisting from side to side, and having it already installed is an advantage if you need one. I won’t need that for catfish, but it might be useful for sturgeon on the Columbia River. The placement of the reel seat may be important for your consideration – some saltwater rods have the reel mounted higher on the rod’s butt. If you plan to cast with this rod using a baitcasting reel, I think you would want a different rod with the reel mounted higher to make it easier to cast with two hands. It is described as a trolling rod, and I did not deduct a star due to the placement of the reel.I deducted one star, since I feel the current Amazon listing (12/14/2023) is misleading. It states the following: “Burning Shark Jigging Rod Saltwater Offshore Heavy Trolling Fishing Rod 2 Pieces Conventional Boat Fishing Rod with Roller Guides...”.This rod does not have roller guides as stated in the description. That’s fine for my usage, but I am not sure about those using it for offshore fishing.

Highly rated
I got this rod as a gift for my son-in-law, who is an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. We live near the Gulf in Texas. This was ordered after much research because of how highly it is rated, which is often how Amazon purchases are made. Though I do not have the skill to comment on its performance, many others have, and that is what assured me that this would be a giftworthy product. It arrived carefully wrapped and is enclosed in a quality storage case for protection and organization. Though I am no expert by any means, this does look impressive. The grip is thick and crosshatched for friction. The rod is extremely thick, and though it doesn't matter to performance, it is shiny with a bright golden orange trim that makes this rod look sharp and sporty. There are various places to adjust itto suit your prefernce like attaching it to a bele as an option. I am excited to gift this, and appreciate other users who have reviewed this rod so I could make a confident order.

Got This Handsome Rod For Lake Trolling
I fish for big bass known as “stripers,” mostly trolling with my powerboat. I need robust rods for this as I get fish up to 50 lbs, and I need the rod to bear that as well as the force of the boat’s movement. This rod is up to the task.It comes in 2 pieces and has good action, while staying reasonably stiff. Just what I want. The whole thing is practical and well made.Bonus – this Burning Shark rod is a thing of beauty. Maybe only a fisherman would say that, but I admire the workmanship.

Heaviest rod I own
This is the heaviest rod I own. If I break it fighting a fish, it will have to be the fish of a lifetime, or human error. Human error would include an incorrectly seated ferrule, or holding the tip next to the turning prop of the motor. The two-section grip is well padded and substantial. The double-footed line guides are a single piece of folded metal, with an insert on the frontmost side. The male section of the ferrule is an unsanded blank. This is a TWO-piece rod, although a tag connected to the butt section refers to it as a 4-piece. The finish is black and the accent wraps are gold. It comes with a nylon carrying sleeve. This sleeve will not protect from breakage if you step on it or run over it with a vehicle.
