Darn Tough Vermont Men's Merino Wool Westerner Over-the-Calf Light Cushion Socks

All I can say is WOW! I can hardly tell I'm wearing them! Very comfortable and fit like a perfect glove! I went out on a 1.5 mile hike with a 35+ lb back-pack today and I can't say enough how good my feet felt in the North Carolina humid summer-time woods! No hot-spots, no blisters, no numbness, no marks on my calf's/legs from the knit pattern of the socks, nothing but comfort! Wish I'd pulled the trigger on these beauties a long time ago, worth every penny! These are the way to go if your out tromping through the woods in the heat of the summer, wear shorts with no worries from brushing up against poison-oak or just itchy tall grass!I rarely give 5 stars to a product but these guys in Vermont deserve it!

So I bought an XL when the sizing chart says I should wear a large. But, like others have said, I've got a large calf and the XL is perfect. I wear these in taller motorcycle boots and they do not get pulled/pushed down and the built in heel is only slightly off (past the end of my heel) but they are extremely comfortable and durable. I have 5 pairs now and would highly recommend them. Can't go wrong with their warranty either.

These are the best wool socks I have ever bought. Comfortable, light weight but keep my feet as warm as my thick socks.

Product is as advertised. Very nice socks! Comfortable, stays in place, very breathable and high quality. Did not give a 5 due to price. They could be a little more affordable.....but I would buy them again. Great product!

I just got a pair of these today and I put them on right away. I love them!!! Very comfortable and nice and cushioned without making my boots to tight. I never thought I'd pay $21 for a pair of socks but i guess my old pappy was right...... you get what you pay for.

I love them, they stay up, they're very comfortable. They're very expensive for socks, so I can't say that they're a great value, but they're the best if you wear tall, pull-on style or cowboy boots all day. I've got pretty big calves, I'm 6' tall and weigh 225 lbs., and these are some of the only socks that I've owned that will stay up above the calf all day. If that's what you're looking for, then these are the socks for you.

Ordered two socks, both XL. One came in original packaging, other didn't. The ones the didn't are shorter and smaller fit. I don't recommend using amazon to buy them.

They are certainly "darn tough!" For how thin these socks are, I would have expected to wear through them with the level of dancing I did the other day, but the socks do not even look worn! My feet also stayed nice and dry in a pair of tight leather oxfords despite the fact that the place where the prom was held was quite warm, being a coffee shop without ventilation or AC and crowded with about thirty to forty people. I highly recommend these socks!

I get the feeling these were made for Hobbits - short, but huge feet. Also - with small calves. Will probably buy again, but feel they could be more realistically proportioned.
