These are not the same boots from a few years ago. These used to be the most comfortable boots. The dark brown went on sale for $100, so I bought two pairs. Like others have said, the top loops broke off and the boots killed my ankles. I cut the feet out of old winter socks and wore them to cushion my ankles. Just thought it was a bad pair but wore them out. Just opened the second new box. Wore them once. Same thing. Could barely walk by lunch break. I luckily keep a pair of old boots in my truck and had to switch. Not sure if they've always been, but tongue says "made in China". Thinking cheaper brass hooks and cheaper leather. If you're looking to replace your older model, don't.

metal eyes do not except boot laces, three of the metal eyes broke while just walking in them.would not recommend them to anyone.

I bought these boots a month ago and I love them. Fit great, love the support for my ankles. Pretty lightweight. Thorogood got my $ for the rest of my life. Great boots!
