The squirrels have had to work harder than usual to steal from this feeder, and they haven’t destroyed it yet as they’ve done with a number of expensive feeders. If they do eventually thwart me and take this one down, it will be cheap and easy to make another!

We live in a very windy area and I'm thrilled at how slowly the birds empty the feeders so I am thrilled!You can even make a bird seed parfait with different layers of whatever you want to put in it I put in mealworms and a little thistle seed, black oil sunflower seed.And you can watch the birds eat every layer and they don't scatter it all over the place they have to work for it..

I have a metal one of these I bought at a national park store. By comparison the plastic ones are much cheaper but work very effectively. When it rains, they can get clumps of seeds in the basic, but that's easy enough to remedy. I know these work well with our birds.

I bought several bird feeders. The birds regularly use the other but i have never seen, not even once, any bird use this. They fell from the hanging line several times as the hanger does not have ends large/long enough to stay in the holes. After the third fall the hanger broke rendering the feeder useless. A total waste of money.

Typical "river" quality. It kinda works, if you use TINY feed. Most common feeds are too big and won't fit through slots for feeding.
