I’ve been using these bats for a few months now, and they are working great. I bought two sets, and noticed that one of the inserts fits a bit tightly in the bat, but it is not a big issue. Overall, these have made throwing pottery much easier, and the smaller square footprint takes up less space on the shelves when the pots are drying.

I've been using these bats for about 2 semesters now, and they have held up pretty well. While I have found the inserts are a little difficult to remove with just my fingers, but I honestly like knowing that they are in tight, and it is not difficult to pry it out with a tool. These are definitely better for throwing smaller pieces (The most I normally throw is between 2-3lbs). My main complaint is that the interior of the main bat doesn't have any sort of sealant or covering on it, and I have found that if I don't allow it to dry uncovered it does get moldy, but that's more user error if anything (I have limited storage space at school, hence keeping it in its box to save space). Since cleaning it better and allowing it to dry uncovered, I have not had that issue.

soooo… i loved this bat and the inserts while they were effective for a month or two BUT whilst throwing i noticed that sometimes the inserts got stuck if there was water or clay trapped underneath - made it hazardous and difficult to take inserts out with thrown pieces on. it got a little moldy on the inner bat part. the entire bat ended up warping and now i can’t use it because it makes throwing sloppy and uneven. pretty upset considering the price and quality.

After having to use a clay disk to adhere my bats to my old no-pins pottery wheel, this bat system is a dream! It goes perfectly with my new, pinned electric wheel. Everything fits snugly and, with a small lever tool, comes up easily. I'm going to order another one!

I got these because I wanted to be able to leave my pots on a bat to dry. These were far cheaper than other comparable bat systems. They work fine. However I needed a bat gripper under it because the bat was a bit loose. It help to secure it well to the wheel head. Love these!
