This is a dream of a book and one that draws you back time & again for just another treat-of-a-peak into the most beautiful and authentic homes.They're shot exquisitely and the sense of real life isn't hidden too far behind the scenes: I think this is one of the reasons I can't put it down easily. The stories - understood and written about so captivatingly - behind the families' decisions to buy, renovate, and stay in the incredible range of homes are inspiring and also relatable. A Perfect indulgence and gift for self or others.

Sadly as with the new eco prints the gloss has gone off the gingerbread. The pictures are rendered dark and one dimensional. Most of the houses all look the same with endless text about getting back to the bones of a house, letting it speak to them, foraging for antique curios etc. many of the rooms actually look awkward and cluttered, far from cosy or appealing. I spent half an hour reading the text turning the pages, and will never open it again.

Liked the book size .how it was set out ...and each house so different ..Delightful..

This book is absolutely delightful. Brimming with English charm, rural settings, and beautiful homes. I also appreciated that it was wrapped in plastic to protect from damage.
