Yes, the sleeve is insulated somewhat. I have two of these bottles and I love them. I've washed both of the sleeves twice and air dried them. Ice stays in the bottle for 2 to 3 days and stays cold 3 to 4 days. However, you may want to purchase the rubber shoe/boot to put on the bottle's bottom when you don't use the sleeve. I dropped one of my bottles and it dented the bottom. So now it's rocky on some surfaces. I used it when i went on a 14 day cruise, and i use them all the time at home instead of other drinking items. .
