Do calibrate it
Seems to work well. I had to calibrate it before first use, and do some googling to understand exactly what it was telling me, not having done this before

Seems a good value instrument
Wanted to check my honey water content. This is a good value device. I can’t validate its accuracy other than the calibration fluid provided seems to work. Easy to adjust and use. Supplied with a soft storage bag and some plastic pipettes. Seems good value for money.

Ticks all the boxes
To be honest I use a digital refractor most of the time. However cross checking is important to me and being able to pick this handy refractometer up and confirm what my other device is showing by matching the readings is a big reassurance. The scaling lines are clear and it shows the brix and water percentage contents differences. For the money it is an absolute snip and came with calibration fluid and a carrying bag. On arrival the calibration was set spot on and I could have got away without using the fluid, but it is handy for future checks. If you want an accurate well priced refractometer for your honey, I don't think you will get any better. Big thumbs up from me.

Modèle adapté à l'apiculture
Très bon appareil pour mesurer le taux d'humidité du miel spécialement. Sa graduation s'étend juste ce qu'il faut pour avoir une précision pour le miel (typiquement de 15 à 20 pour cent) de 0,2 en 0,2 pour cent. Pour d'autres applications, il est certainement mal adapté (bière, sirop peut-être, .... à voir) mais d'autres modèles existent de 5 à 90 pour cent. Emploi très facile et bons résultats. Livré avec une fiole de produit pour l'étalonnage et trois pipettes plastique. Dommage qu'il ne soit pas livré dans un étui plastique rigide à la place de la housse tissu.
