5 delicious stars ⭐️
My heart is thumping wildly still after just finishing this book. What an exceptional read. How this author puts words together to create beautiful sentences.Rider & Estella are my new favourite couple ❤️.By no means is this an easy read as Ryder had a most horrendous childhood. He now thinks his soul is black & barren. And then one day this beauty is late for class & thus begins his obsession.A truly wonderful read & I can't wait to re read again. 💚🇨🇮

Could not put it down!
***RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW***Estella and Ryder are intense!Ryder is obsessed with Estella when they first meet and there is instant attraction. Adding to the fact that Estella had a crush on him since she was 15, it was meant to be!!Ryder is an intense character, but he is protective, loving and completely obsessed with Estella. He will do anything for her, even if he has to fight the world. He has suffered a lot in the past and has completely closed people off until he meets his match.Estella has grown a lot in this book, her life hasn't always been a fairytale. She is loving, strong, loyal and empathetic. I loved her character development, from someone who was scared to move forward in life to a strong woman, who will not let anyone boss her around.I was really surprised about how the story was connected with the Four Housemen, but it made me love them even more! No joke they are my favourite characters.I am intrigued by the MacAlister Clan, cannot wait to see where they will go next!

Ryder is to die for 🖤
The Professor andAnother V.F. Mason book read and no surprise another 5★ rating. Just like The Land Where Sinners Atone and Madman Duet, The Professor and His Obsession captivated me from the very beginning, and with each page turn pulled me deeper and deeper into the story, feeding my craving to get more of it. Though it’s a dark romance, compared to other books in that interconnected world of serial killers, it’s way lighter, pleasant. Teacher/student & sweet age gap trope. Ryder and Estella are one power couple, perfectly matched for each other. Despite traumatizing childhood, suffering in the past and fighting demons, both standing strong, embracing new days and challenges ahead. From the moment he lays his eyes on her, his dominant, obsessive and possessive way takes over to claim and protect her. Their heated exchange regards Hades and Persephone only adding up the spice and passion to the relationship, igniting more sexual tension and affection between them. It's an intensive read, with drama, suspense, angst and twists in plot. I loved every bit of it.

Dark and delightful
I loved this book.Estella has ran from the monster her whole life only to fall straight into the arms of another monster as soon as she gets some freedom.Ryder knows what he wants the minute he lays eyes on Estella and the monster inside him will never let her go.The childhoods of both characters are awful.Estella is only the light soulful woman she is because of her brother (his story from his own POV is going to be heart wrenching) but her light draws Ryder in and the two of them together are intense, hot, sexy fire.I would say this is more Estellas book than Ryders and with that you get less death and destruction than in previous books I’ve read by this author and that’s replaced by 2 great best friends who have some romance of their own .I can’t wait for the 4 horseman books and am hoping the rest of the Mcallister family can also be added to the list of books to come, there’s no such thing as too many monsters or mafia men in my book world

Great read!!
Ryder is the black sheep of his family, and he has had a tragic and horrific upbringing, with a brother who is head of the mafia. Estella was raised by an over-protective brother from a young age, and she is strong, loyal, and loving. When Ryder accepts a job in Chicago, his brother warns him not to go there, but he does anyway, and on his first day of teaching a girl walks into his class late, and from the moment he sets eyes on her he is obsessed. Estella is shocked when she arrives at her class to find out that her profession is the same man, she has had a crush on since a teenager. Ryder has met his match with Estella, and he is completely devoted to her and will do anything for her, even though their romance is forbidden. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and with family, loyalty, twists, emotions, rivalry, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Naughty professor and more!🔥
V.F. Mason is a new author to me. I was in the mood for a naughty professor romance and was scrolling when I found this book and decided to give it a try and let me tell you that it went above what I was looking for! It had me from the beginning, I couldn't put it down. I love Greek Mythology and I loved that it was referenced throughout the book so much so that this story had a somewhat Hades and Persephone vibes. It had so much so fast. There was an age gap, intant love/teenage crush, a dirty possessive ott touch her and die professor (of course), broken awful childhoods for both characters, danger, redemption and so much more. This is a standalone book that has a follow up series with interconnecting characters that I can't wait to devour. I won't say too much about the story except to say that the way this author describes this love story about two characters who lived through hell and survived it so that they could find their way to eachother was dark and beautifully poetic. Thank you, V.F. Mason.

Outstanding
I love to read about a protective brother who takes care of his baby sister n see to it that she never suffers. Octavius was that brother for Estella. I loved him so much.Ryder was the rival of Octavius n his horsemen partners. Destiny brought Ryder n Estella together n sparks flied everywhere. The steam n spice was hot!But Estella is anxious about her brother's response n reaction to her relationship with Ryder. What happens when Octavius comes to know about them? Are Ryder's feelings for Estella true n real? Or is she a pawn in his game to hurt Octavius? How their story unravels is explored in such an exceptional way that I've never come across any such story. I totally loved all the characters in the book. But Octavius, Ryder n Estella stole the show, in that order. I can't wait to read Octavius' book. I really want him to get his happily ever after !Full marks to the author for writing such a beautiful story!!I can't wait to read about the 4 horsemen..

fell off after the first half
I really wanted to love this book. The young university teacher/student thing is something I do tend to enjoy. It focused too much on their respective families and not enough on building a relationship between the two that we get to see.As always, I hate when authors add kids into the mix when no one mentioned wanting kids immediately. It just seems forced and fake here, like oh they have to have kids because they’ve been hooking up.I struggled through the last half of this novel, it was very predictable.

4.25 stars- An OTT obsessed professor and his student? yes please
I am a sucker for professor/student romance, ESPECIALLY when the H is OTT j/p and obsessed- no other woman will do: those Hs are my Kryptonite!Estella (19) goes to class late and sees her new professor, Ryder (33), and is stunned because she’s had a crush on him since she was 15. Of course, he’s very fit🤤, handsome😅, and has a certain presence about him😉. She’s supposed to go on a date with a friend, something she stunned about because she considers herself on the plain side, yet her professor makes her feel more things than she should be feeling. They start having a discussion about Persephone and Hades, and it gets heated. The back-and-forth is delicious and tension-filled, especially considering the topic at hand.See, Estella has been sheltered a lot. Her brother, Octavius, used to lock her up so that she never experienced or saw the child abuse that he endured when they were growing up. Because of that, she always feels indebted to her brother. Her brother has the physical reminders of their abusive childhood 🥺. But that doesn’t mean that she’s naïve or isn’t aware of the dangers out there. In fact, she admires a well-known Hades persona that k!lls men that abuse women.Ryder was beat up, abused, unloved as a child and as he was growing up. He witnessed a lot of things no child should ever witness. Because of that, he doesn’t know what it feels like to be loved, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that when he meets Estella,he becomes obsessed, possessive, and jealous 😅. The scene where he basically follows Estella and orders her to cancel her date had me sweating a little 😅 (in a good way). #mineminemineThe smexx scenes. I mean. This was almost on the insta-love side, but I didn’t care lol, and the buildup wasn’t as organic as it could’ve been, but I still enjoyed it. Estella works in a library, and… OH. MY. GODDD… I never did anything even close to what Ryder and Estella did 🥵🔥. The tension builds when they’re arguing in the the classroom and then it 💥 when they’re alone 😅🥵. Hands on thr0at, bit!ng the neck/ear lobes are my personal weakness, and this has it a lot 🤤. By 30%, the tension explodes, and they take advantage that they’re alone, in a dark corner, and it’s 🔥🔥🔥. And then in his office when he gets into another debate in class 🥵🥵🥵. Oh dear LAWD 😉😅.Although she’s not a V, he still has to teach her all the pleasures of the body 💦, which he’s extremely happy to do 😉. Her one experience wasn’t the best. Their connection goes deeper than just surface level, especially when they open up and share their childhood stories, both rooted in tragedies. One thing is for sure, he’s very protective of her and I love that about him. Plus, the epilogue is cute and demonstrates how in love they still are 🥰🥰🥰.I wish the flashback scenes were more fleshed out or maybe have a prologue that includes the flashback scenes. Also, I would’ve liked it to be longer to show a longer buildup to their physical connection. Maybe a couple of class debates before he approaches her and touches her. I also wouldn’t have minded to find out more about this Hades persona or the Four Horsemen.Overall, I really enjoyed it. I hope there’s a book on her brother. I see there’s one on Santiago.

Ryder and Estella
I will be rereading my favorite parts of this book soon. I loved the chemistry between Ryder and Estella from the very first interaction in the classroom to the very last interaction in the book. They had some pretty steamy scenes too, especially in the library. I enjoyed reading how the battle for Estella went between Ryder with his McAllister brothers versus Estella’s brother and other members of The Four Horsemen. I was impressed with how the author brought out similarities to their own love story to the literature taught by the Professor in the class Estella was taking. I have read several other books by this author and I look forward to reading more.
