Meh.
An Ok, superficial read about superficial musings. The author may want to dig deeper inside to give the viewer something a bit more gravitas. I can't help but feel like the writing has something to it, yet the rather bland life experiences backing it up are leaving a hollow reading experience. This stuff warrants a book? Really? Good start, I enjoyed the brief pieces — yet many ADD chapters are just a bit too sparse and prob don't warrant inclusion. Where's the real meat? Is any of this particularly special? I'm left wondering if this is a case of birds of feather flock together... Empty self-grandiose musings about a superficial town. There's some real potential, but this mixed bag falls a bit short. Interesting style, but little substance. Was like a hot dog for lunch, nothing special, tasted good here and there, but needed way more quality ingredients. I'm left curious what the hell did I just consume — at least it was cheap & quick. 2.5 outta 5 stars.

captivating
This book had me spellbound as I could not put it down. I thought I would start by reading just a couple of the short stories, but before I knew it, I had almost completed the entire book. I love the fact it is full of modern day encounters everyone can relate to. It made me smile, laugh, ponder and think. Indeed the author's style and point of view are novel; however, the content is what makes the stories unforgettable. It is the type of book you will want to share and even read aloud to your friends.

Lane is original, quirky and unconventional
I love Lane's quirky style of writing; he's definitely unconventional in every astute observation of others. He keeps your interest with keen comments when people-watching and describing interactions with those he encounters. I can't wait for his next book!

Packs A Punch!
When it came in the mail I couldn't put it down. I've kept it in my purse ever since and I've re-read many of the stories. I thought it would be mostly vain but fun...to my surprise each story has a great message...well, a message. Can't wait for for Volume 2...

Honest
This is an insightful collection of stories about a man trying to make it... make it with women, make it in show biz and make it as a writer. The recurring character Vincent keeps himself powering through each story with his bravado, humor and perseverance. Quick read, written with a unique style and perspective.
