I love this crochet hook. It has made working with black yarn so much easier. It's easy to use. I love the fact it's rechargeable. I got it last Thursday July 19th 2018. It was charged and ready to go. It was a lot brighter than the "crochet light" hook I bought. I love the case it came with. And the pouch with all the little extras. It took me a little bit getting use to holding it but still love it. I can't believe I didn't find this sooner. I found it and made it my early birthday gift from my uncle this month. I've never been so happy. Also the charge lasts a long time. I didn't have to charge it till the Sunday or Monday after I got it. It's still fully charged days later and still very bright. Thank you for creating this. The only small issue is the measuring tape that came with this. It's not accurate. The numbers don't line up with the measurement. I compared it another tape measure I have and a ruler. The numbers don't line up. Other than that every thing is great with this. Even changing the tops out for different sizes is easy to do. Also I wanted to note that some reviewers said theirs didn't come with the black sizing numbers. Mine did. I can clearly see which size the hooks are. I'm so very happy with this product. Also I went out to a craft store the day I got it had to get some supplies. Ended up talking with a customer there about this hook. I showed her pictures of it and she said she was going to look into getting one herself. I also got a friend of mine interested in getting one. That's why I took pictures to show her how it looked.

This set is great. Rechargeable batteries instead of having to buy more. Comes with a tiny wrench to remove the hooks. They can't be removed without it. To me this is good because the it won't accidentally come out. 2 brightness on the LED light hook. The handle is big and part of it is rubber. This makes it nice to hold on to, your hand doesn't get tired with the bigger handle, and it works for left or right handers. Outstanding product.

Update: NOT good for amigurumi or other tight crochet. The replacement from my first broken hook just broke. I will be looking for a more durable hook with an ergonomic handle. I’ll still use this handle and my remaining hooks for my non-amigurumi projects, and the light is still great for dark yarn. The hook(s) itself is nice. With the interchangeable heads you only have one handle to worry about having a charged battery. The ergonomic handle keeps my hand from getting achy, and I have no issues hitting the light button when I don't mean to (though it's easy to activate when I need it). I did have one hook break, but they took care of it when I contacted them. The accessories are also nice EXCEPT the measuring tape is in Chinese and metric units. If you work in imperial (aka American) measurements, this will do you no good.

I am very new to crochet, and am slowly determining what type of hooks I like. One problem I had no matter the hook, was seeing clearly- primarily due to where I was trying to crochet. I came across these in my search for a new hook. I loved the idea of a lighted hook, and I am loving this set. I was worried with multiple heads they might be more fragile,but they fit in snuggly and I haven't had any issues. I love the two levels of light and the comfort grip is great. Perhaps because I am new to crochet and don't have and established grip, I am finding it easy to,earn with these.

This seems like a good idea but the hook of the crochet needles are so small and have such little depth that the yarn slips right off as you are trying to pull it through loops ( crochet people will now what I mean). Especially if you are doing more intricate or complex stitches that require to pull through several loops or you are working with really soft or light weight yarn like baby yarn. The light is nice. The hooks also do not have the size (gauge) in letters so you have to know and match the mm ( which is the sizing of these) with letter size of the hook you need for your project. That may be old school but I have been crocheting for over 30 years and that's how things were in terms of sizing of the hooks.

Even my husband thought this was a really cool invention! The first project I worked on with the Yarn Mania lighted crochet hook was this little "Dumpling Pup" (Dover Pub.) I used cotton - the stuff you crochet wash cloths with- and worked the stitches very tightly. The hook held up and had no connection issues. I found it very comfortable to hold and the light helped when I was in a dim room. I have another project with dark colored yarn and I know I'm going to be so glad to have these hooks when I get to it. I'm not sure I would have even bought a design that uses batteries. I'm very glad this is rechargeable and that the different sizes come all in a set of interchangeable heads. It is because of these features that I saw this set to be a good value and chose it over other options. I'm quite pleased.

The hook heads that light up are to short. When doing a dank or trip crochet the space of the neck to hook is to short. I do like the case though. And the amount of light is effective.

I really like this set, with one fairly major exception. I have been using most of the hooks with no problem, and the battery seems to be going strong without needing to be charged after many hours of use so far. However, for some reason, my 4mm seems to be poorly cut... the yarn just won’t stay on it and if it does, it splits. It’s the only hook I have an issue with, but it’s the one I need to use the most, which is frustrating. I feel like overall the set is a good value and if my 4mm hook worked properly, this would be a 5 star review.

I bought this set over other light up hooks for two reasons. The interchangeable hooks and the fact that it's rechargeable. So far it's been great! I tend to prefer the brighter light as I'm a bit hard of seeing, but it's a good brightness for night time crocheting in bed without disturbing my husband with a lamp. The case is great and looks very professional and I especially like the included bag for the accessories that attaches to the inside via velcro. Easily removed if you need to, but it isn't going to fall out and get lost when you don't. I was a bit worried about using a plastic hook when I tend to prefer aluminium or bamboo, but I haven't had any problems working my yarn and the hooks slides across it without problem. The hooks are very easy to change. You don't need the wrench to remove them, but it is essential to lock a new one in place so it doesn't fall out, but it takes hardly any effort. The scissors, needles and measuring tape are an added bonus on an already worthwhile set of hooks. The only part I'm not fond of is the plastic stitch markers, as they're a bit tricky to shut and look as if they're about the snap in half. For quick removal I still prefer a metal safety pin, but assuming that's not a dealbreaker (and it shouldn't be), this set is an absolutely worthwhile purchase for anyone looking for a new set with a decent range of hook sizes, especially if you have any plans to use them while traveling!

I love these so much! The case was a bit bent when i got it, so it's a bit warped, but everything inside was in perfect condition. The hooks are soooo easy to change and the light is worth every penny, my eyesight is fading and even with a light on, it was getting harder and harder for me. I took a chance ordering these and i am so grateful i did! Thank you so much Yarn Mania, you helped me enjoy what i love most again! I would definitely reorder from this company and if you're on the fence about ordering these, go for it! You won't regret it!

I love the actual crochet hook the only problem is none of the hooks actually have a size on them. Very frustrating. I have to measure the hooks against other sets of crochet hooks to figure out the sizes. They really should be labelled.

I bought this as a gift and I liked it so much that I got one for myself as well. Perfect for crocheting with dark color yarn.

I am updating my review because I originally found the wrench to not fit the hooks to change them out, however, with a little force, was able to make it work and hope it doesn't break in the future. I like the hooks, they are easy to work with, perhaps the light isn't quite in the right place to be 100% useful, but not too bad. Not sure if I will use them much, and will not be ordering another set though as originally planned.
