priceless passions
What a gem! Thoroughly recommend it!I found this film insightful and it's old fashioned, stylish weaving of the different perspections of the storyline a refreshing change. Unlike the first reviewer, I find the synthesizing of the percepted natatives pleasing in it's simplicity. It's a refreshing change to see a softer and more honest appraisal of infidelity in a film. I do wish that the charismatic Adam (Stuart Townsend) had more time to unravel his personal philosophies, though this would have detracted from the magnetism of his mysterious air.Last point. The women were portrayed as strong and intelegent. They were, for the most part, not duped for long and they were clearly not victims and this is what makes this movie a little gem!

FRIVOLITY AND IMMORALITY .
entertaining bit of fluff . would have gained extra star , if setting indublin was not full of u.s actors .total nonsense , as dublin catholicism would not allow scenario .having said that , i did enjoy it .

A lighthearted movie
For the money here on Amazon I'd say it's worth getting if you're into this kind of film. A bit of a simple plot with lots of details missing, but cleverly done and intriguing to watch. If you have a few hours where you need some lighthearted entertainment with female company then you could do a lot worse.

Sexual generosity
A comedy about a Young man who enjoys being All things to All women', in this case three sisters, to the benefit of All. The film is a defence of sexual generosity.

A Gem Of A Film!
I watched this the other night and am still smiling now. My daughter and I sat glued to it and it had laughs in all the right places. Kate Hudsons' accent was pretty good, not perfect but then neither is mine! Frances O'Connor was fantastic as the slightly dotty sister who always has her nose in a book. But the most oustanding performance has got to be from Stuart Townsend. He was brilliant from start to finish and had us in stitches. The story is pretty simple...Lucy,(Hudson), is the youngest daughter of a typical Irish family. She's always flitting from boyfriend to boyfriend getting bored with them all very quickly. That is until she meets shy, sweet and perfect Adam,(Townsend). The story is told from the perspective of all the members of Lucy's family, all of whom fall in love with Adam! (Including her straight brother to a certain degree!!!)Adam is a typical rogue in disguise and yet he manages to break with rom/com tradition and gets away with it! I was left hoping he would, and yet I should've been wanting his head on a spike for all he does. He's a true womaniser and it's amazing to see how he gets about without getting caught in the act.I wasn't expecting too much of this film when I sat down to watch it but I was very pleasantly surprised and I will definitely be watching it again at some point not too far off. If you're a fan of typical rom/coms you may be disappointed because as I said earlier, this breaks with traditional rom/com rules and has the bad guy getting it all and getting away with it. I loved it, as did my daughter and I can't recommend it highly enough. It's well worth the watch especially if you're a fan of Townsend. Give it a go is all I can say!

Surprisingly refreshing and witty.
I managed to catch this one on the independant film channel, and I'm glad I did.We all know romantic comedies are a dime a dozen, and though I admit to being a sucker for some, I always know the plots are predictable. Some I just watch because of who's in them, and hope that they'll be different. I lose on that score, often.Well, this one was different. Sure, there's a love story (is there?), but there are a lot of side stories going on here.Adam is introduced to us in a typical sort of fashion, like many love stories, and begins romancing Kate Hudson, and it seems like your regular fare, right? Sure, they are attractive, charming, but what's so special about this movie?Well, THEN he meets the family, and that's when things get.....interesting. Told from three sisters' perspectives, it was a refreshing way to show how this Adam is seen by each person, and to see what was happening in each scene, as some are repeated, BUT from a different POV, which makes them seem new. Even one of the men seems to fall for him, as Adam is "all things to all people". Which seems to be what he's there for. But just who is Adam, really? Well, regardless of the movie's title, we never really know for certain. It's really about these OTHER people, see. Adam is never shown as himself (or is he?), only as he's perceived by others. It is a real ensemble effort, and all of the actors are engaging in this film, down to the smallest parts. I believe it's Francis that plays the "repressed", bookish sister, and she is really wonderful in this movie.I do have to note Stuart seems to fit the part like a glove, he's a pleasure to watch. Another actor might not have pulled off what he did..and that was to be so charming, so attractive, and somehow seem sincere (even though that's highly questionable) enough that I about forgave him, when I should hate him. He's a cad..but somehow things work out. If you have sisters, especially, you should probably be appalled..and yet it's so damn...charming.It's a bit self relevatory, if you ask yourself "what would I have done"?I'll freely admit..I probably would have said "what the hell, why not"?(then again, I dont have sisters!)So, you may be appalled at the morals of these characters, which seems to be the critique of many who didnt like it, but leave the "real world" for a time and just watch the story unfold. Good acting, clever dialogue, film editing and a different sort of story than the norm, makes it a guilty pleasure.(And Stuart is just too yummy, at the risk of sounding like a schoolgirl. He's also a fine actor)
