I use my old phone for an alarm and to look things up on my wifi. Recently the phone started heating up and I discovered the battery was bowed, which means it's no good. My spare batteries weren't holding a charge. I was debating whether to take a chance that it's the battery and not the phone when I saw this battery available. When I first installed the battery and put it on the charger, it had 50% charge so I turned on the phone to give it time to boot up and update. Initially the phone started getting warm, but I went through the apps and deleted any that were no longer needed and disabled most of the other apps. It seemed to help, the battery finished charging and all is well for now. I'm glad to have my little old Galaxy S-5 by the bed again. I will update once I see how long the battery lasts.
