This carpenter's folding rule by the German Presch brand would be a useful addition to any home handyman's tool box – and at around a tenner currently from Amazon it won't break the bank. The rule extends to two metres at it's maximum, but the folding design means it becomes nicely compact for storing. As well as measuring, this rule can also act as a basic protractor for certain applications – but this is a bit fiddly and you might want something a bit more accurate if this is a feature you will use a lot. Although the rule is double-sided, both sides are metric – I still think in feet and inches so would have preferred one side of each – but as this is a European product I can't really complain! This is a useful tool that is easier to use than a tape measure for certain purposes, and it seems accurate and nicely made. If you only use metric measurements then you might rate this rule with five stars – it drops to four stars for me, but that is because I still use both systems.
