Buy more than you think that you'll need.
I have not used teak oil before, so cannot compare this with other brands. But it seems to do a good job. It is thin and goes on easily with a cloth or paintbrush and the wood just soaks it up. That is good. The idea is to impregnate the wood with oil, so that water cannot get in and cause it to rot. It also enhances the colour of the wood,After just one coat, the difference is obvious. Equally obvious it that I''ll have to give my patio furniture more than one coat... I've attached a photo showing the difference that just one coat made - untreated chair on the left, oiled chair on the right. But one coat will not be enough. Right now I'm thinking that three coats may be sufficient, unless my natural laziness cuts in and I feel the need to relax on my chairs rather than oil the damn things...How much will you need? As a guide, I used two bottles giving one coat to one Adirondack chair, two high-back semi-reclining dining chairs with arms and a 1 metre diameter dining table. This evening, I used most of a bottle treating the other Adirondack chair and giving the table a second coat. (I think I gave the second chair a more thorough oiling than I did the first) My advice would be to buy more than you think that you are going to need. Don't worry if you have some left over - you'll need it again next spring. If your furniture, like mine, lives on a patio, here's a tip. Nip down to your local DIY store (or search Amazon) for some "furniture glides". These are plastic domes with a built-in nail. Whack them into the feet of your patio furniture. If you do this, the vulnerable end-grain of the wood won't be sitting in the puddles on your patio. The label on the bottle advises you to dispose of any cloths used with care as they may be liable to spontaneous combustion. The cloths that I used have yet to burst into flames of their own accord. This is most disappointing. Can I claim a refund? :-)

Thin
Does an okay job, but seemed a bit on the thin, runny side. Had to apply twice in one hour.
