Kate, Who Tamed The Wind Hardcover – Picture Book, February 6, 2018

Teaches kids about the power of trees to protect the world, with a fun, relatable story and great pictures. I absolutely love the lessons in this book that doesn’t push an agenda or force a way of thinking. Kate who Tamed the Wind is such a good book!!

Author uses repetition to lend an easy cadence to a simple & sweet story where the hero is a girl and the illustrations are just as important as the words — and maybe more so, since they tell the story of Katie’s through processes as she works out a solution to her neighbor’s problems with living up atop a steep, steep hill. Kept the attention of my 4 year old grandaughter & 6 year old grandson, and I quite enjoyed reading it to others them ... One can easily ignite discussions of everything from botany & physics to kindness & service to others to supplement this story.

I simply love this book, made it to my top books list. Not only cause I'm a big fan of Lee White's art and you can't go wrong with him, it's a rich style, full of fun and creativity, beautiful to look at it for hours, and because the whole story also is a lovely way of telling kids how valuable nature is, I don't want to spoil saying exactly what it teaches :)) Thank you author and illustrator for such precious book ♥

My little one who loves Star Wars was drawn into this lovely book by the science angle and kept going with the rhythm that carries the reader along. A fantastic book for home or classroom, especially for Earth Day, Arbor Day, spring nature studies or explorations of alternative energy and using nature to help us, rather than hurting nature. Such a gorgeous book. Highly recommend for ages 5-10.

Such a great book I’ve ordered more as gifts! It has rhyming which kept my daughter engaged. The illustrations are great! Showed how the character thinks outside the box to problem solve, and make a new friend along the way

Chosen as a book to be given to children with a mass collection of books our philanthropic group provides each year.

As a mother of boys, I look for books with female characters who DO things (and are not pretty princesses). This one has become one of our favorites- we all love her creativity and inventiveness- a great example for all children!

Design and story are wonderful. Kudos to the artist, writer and publisher.

Such a strong and resourceful role model for little girls.
