100% worth buying
After using it for a few months on about 100 trees I am impressed. I’ve cut material that required two hands that I was sure would break something but it doesn’t skip a beat. The angled head is awesome to get those proper angles on the branch collar. The 6’ is great for just about everything but if you’re pruning ornamentals and climbing in the tree the 4’ might be the better option but from the ground the 6’ is perfect

I am an arborist and this is a great tool
this is the best ARS long reach pruner I have ever used. I started pruning fruit trees in 1995. I have gone though many styles of long reach pruners, telescoping ARS, long handled loppers, and others. This is a truly professional grade pruner. the head is at a slight angle to get the proper cut. they are stout without being heavy. Now to see if they have one in 4' length. it is so good that I bought another one to replace the first one. My only complaint is Please do not send orders via USPS. The Postal person will not deliver to my house. it is a rural rt.

The best
These clippers are extremely well made and sharp as all get out! If you have vines, Climbing roses, fruit trees you will absolutely use this and enjoy using them. I have for the first time safety trimed my wisteria and done it in a 1/4 of the time. If I use them to top or shape evergreens I make sure to clean the sap off the blades before I put them away. Very much worth the money!

Great product, but pay attention to limitations
I wish I'd bought this tool years ago! It's easy to position this pruner and cut at a specific branch collar within a dense shrub, something I found impossible to do with lever-operated pole saws. It's lightweight enough that I can reach way out with it while on my ladder without feeling off balance. The only downside is that in order to be lightweight, it can only be so strong. Specs say it can cut up to 3/4", but (depending on the density of wood being cut) I think that using it too often for diameters greater than 1/2" might lead to trouble, like a jam or break.

works great
arrived in working order. I was worried about the telescoping pruners which seem to be fussy. This is a fixed length and works like a charm. Aluminum shaft is solid but light. Mechanism works great. Supper happy I got this. Seems sturdy like it will last a long time.

Wow Awesome
Have owned 2 other long reach pruners & they last about 2-3 years. Was looking for a better quality pruner & found it with this. Wow. Well made, like the cable is twice the diameter of the other pruners. Plus the quality of the blades, they cut up to 1/2" diameter limbs with ease. Lightweight. And comes with a parts list if you ever have to order parts. Made in Japan. I highly recommend this pruner. It did take several weeks to be delivered & I am glad i was patience enough to wait.

Must have tool
I use this to prune a 60' long x 12' high Monterey Cypress screen. Over many years I graduated from crummy rope pull tree pruners to quality ones. Then found the ARS long reach lopper. Tremendous improvement, yet I noticed I was cutting a lot of branches for which a lopper is still overkill. Got the long reach pruner and now I am happy. I can cut anything up to 1/2" easily and 3/4" in a pinch. I even accidentally cut a 1" branch but that was tough and would possibly break something. I alternate between the two ARS tools using the pruner mostly. The long reach lopper will cut anything that fits in its jaws but it is a bit heavier than the long reach pruner. I suggest getting bot, you won't be sorry. The other essential tool is an orchard ladder and if you are a tall person you can get pretty high.
