A good item to have, looks and feels solid but not heavy or cumbersome as some I have held. Sadly I am not able to use it fully for normal use as unable to walk far these day, however will try to use it when I am out on my scooter once we are able to get out and around freely again.The only slight problem for me at least is trying to read the tiny printed instructions and work out how to use the inclination of inclines as not good at maths myself.

The compass came with an interesting user's manual. There is a list of parts of the compass on one page, and the facing page shows the compass with the parts being numbered. However the numbers don't match the list of the parts. Some parts are quite useful in the user's manual, but it looks like it was copied from another compass' user's manual as at one point it was describing inclination measurements which you can't do with this compass. Also the way it desribes how to calculate distance was a bit "interesting" and some cases inacurate. But that is just the user's manual. The compass itself is acurate easy to use, has a rotating ring on top which glows in the dark if you leave it outside for a while so it can collect light. The thumb ring is a bit hard to open, and when you lay down the compass it wobbles on surfaces as the thumb ring is in the way, and it doesn't help if you open up the compass fully and place it on the map to measure distance. However apart from this I am happy with the compass, and the price is really great for it. It has a good weight to it and the pouch it comes in can be attached to the belt of yours if you like. Good value for money

Walking in the lakes and in the fog , ideal

It feels solid and very well made. I have checked it against three other compasses I own and it looks bob on. Away on a walking holiday soon using only OS maps and a compass and have every confidence in it. The pouch is well made too. Honestly can’t fault it.

As a compass, it works pretty well on a level surface. It helps to use the inclinometer to stop the compass dial from sticking in position, but mine has been pretty accurate for pointing north compared to everything else I've tested it with.The 'fluorescent effect' green pointer on mine does not glow, no matter how long I leave it in sunlight to charge. Even a UV torch has failed to do anything. My suspicion is that it's either a faulty batch of fluorescent paint, or it's simply been painted bright green.This is a little annoying, because it renders trying to use the compass in dark conditions completely pointless (pun absolutely intended) because you cannot see where the pointer is aiming, only the green outer ring under the dial swivel glows.It would have been helpful if the dial swivel pointer also glowed in the dark, I could correct this with a little glow in the dark paint, but when the compass pointer still doesn't glow, it wouldn't make it any more useful.It'll do for now, until I can find a proper military compass that truly does glow in the dark.

Very surprised at the high quality of this item, considering that one has to pay far more for a Silva or other reputable make of compass. Was expecting something sturdy but potentially disposable after a period of use, solely based on the low cost. Instead I now have something I am looking forward to showing off to my military colleagues on our next NavEx! Highly recommend this item, very well made and professional piece of kit; genuine bargain :-)

Nice container to put around your belt and can always come in handy

This item arrived on time and was as described. I have used many types of compass and this was certainly value for money. Easy to use and sturdy.

This is not a good compass, it looks good but that is just about it. It does not work.
