A Classic from Pilot!
The pen known by the name of PILOT Metropolitan in US popularly, here in India available by the its conventional name the PILOT MR..The zig -zag black barrel design, unfortunately is not available with any Indian seller ( although other designs are available) so had to import in from USA for 1300/- extraBut Fountain pen hobby is like that, you gotta have what do exactly desireFor newbies, this is the 'perfect fountain pen' so to speakMetal body, Japanese stainless steel medium nib ( which is finer than US, european medium), cigar shaped and nice grip sectionComes with a converter, Pilot con20 which is a bladder converter, looks pretty cheap though does the job and a Pilot proprietary cartridgePros- I mean for Rs.1000/- or 15USD, pilot is giving the best, even the imported one cost me 2400/- Rs. to be honest, they could sell it for 30USD and nobody would complainIts a smooth writer with its Namiki nib which is finer than corresponding US, European nibsFeels good posted or unposted depending upon how big your hands areCons - Uses a pilot proprietary cartridge or a converter, so you cant use a standard cartridge/converter with thisSo all in all, if you are new to fountain pens, as all would say, I would say buy this pen ( you can buy designs available from Indian sellers for even lesser price). This is my third Metropolitan and none has disappointed me so far.Competitors - of course, the all magnificent LAMY SafariWhile you are at it, just buy a new con40 converter from pilot, which is a screw-type converter available for around Rs.600/- and do away with the cheap con20 which comes with the pen.

Smooth writing, nice weight
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pen. I first purchased one of these while I was traveling and immediately fell so in love with it, I just had to have a second one. The writing is incredibly smooth and the pen feels very nice in my hand. I have fairly small hands but the thickness and weight of this instrument is perfect. It feels like a premium writing instrument without a super premium price. I highly recommend it.

Feels Good, Writes Great
The pen has a solid weight to it and writes like a dream. The top comes off and on with a satisfying click. It feels very well made. This is probably a great place to start if you are looking at getting a 'nicer' pen but do not want to go invest in something pricier.
