Not lightweight and cheap.This is heavy and durable.We have used in the oven, but not over a campfire yet.Just follow the instructions on how to clean and season it, just like you would a skillet.This is great for stew, and even gumbo once you get the roux ready.

Heavy duty cast iron
I ordered this 5QT Cast Iron Dutch Oven for a very specific purpose- baking sourdough bread. I haven’t gotten to use this wonderful cast iron pot to its fullest potential but trust that I will. It’s very heavy which you expect from solid cast iron and comes pre-seasoned. I look forward to using it over a campfire for a meal but for now it’s been baking amazing loaves of bread. Overall an excellent pick.

Exactly As It Should Be
This cast iron dutch oven is a hit. It's every bit as good as the way more expensive name brand ones. It heats evenly and quickly. Great for indoor or outdoor. Love that it comes with a lid-lifter so when camping you can easily check the pot without having to get your hands to close to the flames. All this for a very affordable price. I have no doubt this will last a long time, as the cast iron seems to be thick and durable. Great find.

Sturdy handle. Thick and good cast iron. We use this for camping, it’s been great for placement on a fire.
