Great book for children . Another one to add to our Julia Donaldson collection.

Is there a better combination than Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler in the world of children's books? Whenever my children spot a new book in Scheffler's illustration style they know they are in for a treat.Superworm is an odd little hero but hero he is, he saves lots of his friends by contorting himself into various positions, before he finds himself in peril at the hands of Wizard Lizard, will he become lunch for a crow?As always Julia Donaldson's rhyming story is a pleasure to read and one that lends itself to reading aloud and being learned by heart. My children very quickly started to join in with the chants of Superworm and my five year old soon started to recite the words along with my reading.Scheffler's illustrations are of their usual high standard, we love that you can spot other characters from the Donaldson/Scheffler canon amidst the pages. Can you find the Gruffalo? Superworm is a must for all Julia Donaldson fans, it really is a lovely story about the power of friendship.

Just received this book and I couldn't wait to read it just as much as my 3 year old couldn't wait for me to read it to him. Another brilliant story written in rhyming context and beautifully illustrated. Will eventually have all books written by Julia Donaldson she never fails to impress the books are gems. Don't think I'll be getting bored of this book either they're just so captivating.

You can't go wrong with a Julia Donaldson book and this is no exception. My 2 year old son and I love the fun illustrations and he likes me to read the book with funny character voices (which I'm more than happy to do) every night. It'd be great to see this as an animated cartoon as I'm sure it would translate well to the small screen. Highly recommended.

Our 2 children both love this book. I thought it would be a bit young for a 5-year old, but their class had been using this book too, so I guess the age range is from 2years to 5years, and interesting for both boys and girls. Usual read-ability and rhyming words from Julia Donaldson which make it an easy pleasure to read to them. It's a favourite at bed time. Another classic from the much-loved Julia Donaldson

Another fun book from Julia Donaldson. I don't know where she comes up with the stories, they're mad, weird and wonderful. My son learns them so quickly and loves the songs, poems, pictures and rhymes . Superworm is another winning storyline with a bad lizard and crow and loads of worm friends to entertain you little one. I bought this on board book (as I do with all of my books), I don't know why but they're usually cheaper but are harder wearing and don't rip so easily. We re-read them every night and we'll be doing the same when our new YO comes along in November. :)

This is a wonderful story for young children. My granddaughter wants it read over and over again. The illustrations are very funny and colourful. The story print is a good size for young readers to follow. It is a good size book for sharing with just two children or a whole class. I recommend buing it for up to age six.

I bought this on a whim as it was on a special offer. My daughter is only 5 months old but loves this book already! The rhythm and rhyming is great and she smiles whenever it is read to her. I'm not quite sure whether my partner and I enjoy this more than she does! Fantastic book with great illustrations.

The chant is the best part for my kids, we've even developed a little arm/hand dance for it.At least once a week my kids choose to be read this book.

Las ilustraciones especialmente chulas y la historia en sí muy molona y aventurera. A los niños les encanta todo lo que puede hacer el protagonista y también cómo le ayudan sus amigos cuando este está en problemas. Recomendable!

Mon fils de 3 ans et demi adore, il lit et relit l'histoire. A chaque fois il découvre un nouveau personnage grace aux magnifiques dessins du livre. Il y a tous les ingrédients qui lui plaisent : le fort, le magicien, le méchant, et les copains gentils qui aident le super verre-de-terre. Et le texte rhyme, ce qui est un délice pour les oreilles des enfants, on dirait une chanson !
