Wow! I can’t believe how well these work and in fact I bought a second set just in case because I was in disbelief t the price. I thought there’s no way these work that well for the price being that low. The set even comes with the exact size drill bit. It is the exact size drill bit too. I have had a lot of different things I’ve put together and it gives you the size you need in the instructions and it seems to be to big most of the time. Not in this case, once the hole is drilled it’s a tight fit and very simple to install. There has been no leaks and the water fills the little cup trough which causes the cup to get heavy stopping the flow. Works the magic but I do have to bounce the cup periodically due to it gets dirt collected in the bottom. What I mean by bounce the cup is taking a finger, pulling down on the outside rim of the cup and letting go quickly. I do this multiple times very quickly and it launch’s the dirt out. The cups fill up with water and they’re clean. I could take a hose and spray them out but I just do a quickie and move on. The price, like I said, is amazing and if you’re looking for a simple way to provide water to any of the small animals this is definitely a must. I bought a 30gal. trash can and used it to drill the holes and attach the water cups. I has been a simple setup and the chickens are happy with lots of water at a drip of a hat. Happy times!!

Work great

I struggled with multiple diy watering mechanisms for my chickens when I'd have to be gone for a few days, as well as disliking ground water containers getting disgusting and dirty FAST! I used the smaller nipple cups, but my chickens wouldn't activate it. These are larger, they are spring activated so they automatically fill as the water is used. They included the cups, orings, and wing nuts. They even included a drill bit, which was super impressive to me. I did have a problem that my big butt chickens would run into it and ended up knocking 2 cups off. The little springs were lost and they would no longer refill. I reached out to the company and they were super helpful and fast yo respond. They even said based on this, they might include extra springs in future shipments. For now, I have 3 attached to a 5 gallon bucket. I put it up against a wall and put a cinder block on each side. These are enough to block them from walking around it and knocking cups off but they can still get to it to drink. I may add a drop of glue to the top of each spring, it may keep it from getting lost in a big butt drive by. We'll see! Overall, I would have given 4 stars due to the problem, but they responded so well, I had to add a star back. Absolutely great customer service I really love knowing the chickens have clean water and this is a great product.

Easy to install but after a use or two the threads don't hold and some fell out of the 5 gal bucket or leaked water out faster than you could fill it up.

These watering cups get an A+!! They fill with water as they should and then close the valve to stop from filling, until theyre empty and need to fill again. They're nice and big and hold just the right amount of water for the chickens. I have mine attached to a 5-gallon bucket, near the bottom so I can make sure that all the water is being accessed. (I sat my bucket on some bricks to raise it off the ground.) I did use teflon tape around the threads when I installed them on the bucket. Although there were no instructions that stated to do that, I just wanted that extra reassurance that they wouldn't leak. They have been installed for about 2 weeks and are holding strong. My chickens climb all over them and they haven't budged. The pack comes with 6 watering cups. I will say I was quite surprised when I opened the package.. Sometimes you order things from Amazon and it's quite smaller than what you were expecting. BUT, this time was quite different! These were much larger than what I thought they would be! They're of pretty standard quality, you get 6 big watering cups, and it's a great value for the price your paying. Not only that, this way is so much easier to clean, unlike other watering methods. Definitely try these out and see what you think. For the price point, you can't beat it and it's cheap enough to not use them if you don't like them. I know you will like them, though!

These do not tighten so they turn when the chickens bump them and all the water drains out . My old ones never did that in 5 years.

I have very mixed feelings about these. On one hand, this is a fantastic idea and makes for pretty easy cleaning. On the other, I've been using these for maybe a week and a spring has already popped out of one of them, rendering that cup unable to get any water. I would definitely recommend using multiple per container so your birds have back-ups in case one malfunctions. Definitely wouldn't trust 1 or 2 to keep your birds hydrated in the event of a spring breaking. 3/5 stars for functionality, but maybe 1/5 for durability.
