Aluminum square tube construction with adjustable width up to 36" and a fixed 12" standoff distance. The brackets and hardware are steel. Brackets can be bolted to the ladder in addition to the U-clamps. All hardware supplied, good and welds are very good. I'm using it for permanent installation on my 21' extension ladder for gutter screen installation and maintenance. Will also use it for painting. I love that it is lightweight making it easier to handle the ladder (very important), will make my tasks safer and less damaging to the gutters and roof. The tubes can easily be removed from the mounted brackets if needed. No complaints at all about this product.

I clean a lot of gutters on 74 condo units for an HOA. The overall height of the gutters is approximately 11’. I used a step ladder the first time that i cleaned them and i was constantly having to reposition the ladder. Each time i moved it i had to make sure it was latched down and level on all four legs. It was very time consuming and physically strenuous. I always used a step ladder because i didnt want to lean a ladder against the gutters. I have a 48” stabilizer but it just wont provide the clearance from the gutter that i needed to dig the leaves out of the gutters. I bought this unit and i knew that it was steel. I knew that it would be a little heavier than the aluminum 48” stabilizer that i already have but i mounted my unit on just the bottom section of my 28’ extention ladder. Since i was not going to need a 28’ extention ladder ever again, ( im too old to go that high ) , i cut the ladder off 1 wrung above the attachment. That lightened up the whole set up and i can very easily handle the ladder with one arm properly positioned among the wrungs. The bottom setion of the ladder, of course , has the rubber shoes that articulate to handle minor changes in elevation and they will rotate to full vertical to penetrate into the ground if necessary. The fixture has soft rubber contact balls which will rotate to insure a solid stabilizing position on the roof. The fixture keeps the ladder pushed back far enough from the gutter to prevent damaging them. When you climb up the ladder you know imediately that between the ladder feet and the fixtures rubber balls , the ladder is stable and safe without additional people spotting. This fixture works very well in stabilizing a ladder and preventing damage to the gutter.My only criticism would be the durability of the rubber balls , or lack there of. Before i even used the fixture i wrapped the rubber balls with several layers of 2” wide masking tape. I will have no problem at all replacing the tape periodically because the rough texture of the shingles will wear them out in no time at all. Tape is cheap in comparison.This fixture has been very helpful to me making this job quicker and easier.

Just installed this, nice quality the brackets are heavy duty. Fits my fiberglass extension ladder perfectly. Used 1/4x20 stainless steel bolts to mount instead of the supplied self tap screw. I like that it can be removed when storing the ladder

Had to fix my gutters, my 24' extension ladder was resting on them so I couldn't do what I needed to. Found this, and got it a couple days later. Attached to the ladder easily (although I wish it could clip on and off a bit without nuts and bolts, to make storage if the ladder easier) no matter, it works perfectly. Was able to test the ladder on edge of the roof with enough clearance to fix the gutter. I left it attached to my fibreglass ladder all winter, and used it the other day, and it looked as good as new. Great value.
