Having never seen a Police Story movie since I was a teenager I was expecting a fun adventure movie in the usual Jackie Chan style, however this movie is more of a 2nd reboot, is serious in tone, and is not linked to the previous entries. This much became apparent in the first few minutes and I was disappointed enough to consider turning it off. Also, the movie takes ages to get going, which was a real drag, but once it does it really draws you in.Chan plays a sad, aging police officer who is estranged from his angry daughter and when they are both held hostage in an elaborate nightclub with a bunch of other people they must keep their wits about them and figure out exactly why the villains have a score to settle. By the end I was surprised at how much I was invested in this, to the point where I even cared about the movie's antagonist. The twisting, turning plot does take a while to kick in, but it really is worth it.As for the action, there are a few set pieces, including once particularly tough cage fight that is believable as well as visceral but the weak, flat, and static cinematography and slack editing lets the movie down in many regards. The compositions are fine but it looks cheap and it would have been a good idea to employ a more skilled director of photography for this movie.Very slow start aside, this is a very entertaining thriller and I give it a thumbs up.The Blu-ray looks decent in 2.35:1 with an option of Mandarin or English DTS HD-MA soundtracks. The English dub is hilarious (and badly mixed) and it recommend it. Cockney Chinaman, Dude! The SJWs would be furious. A small amount of extras are included.

The first Police Story film was ok, funny and entertaining. This version has lost the comedy and become grown up? The stunts and action are still there but they are more meaning full, really good enjoyable film.

I know he's not a young man anymore but maybe it's time he stays behind the camera, this is one of the worst JC movies I've ever watchedShould have been called anything other than police story

Wasn't sure what to make of this dint like how kept imagining scenarios of what could happen then there was flashbacks of crimes an not much action as Jackie has got old and unable to pull of stunts he once able to

Ce Police story Lockdown est un drame policier et la suite du précédent, le drame d'action New police story qui avait réactivé la série comique des 4 premiers Police story. Jackie Chan n'a apparemment plus envie de rire sur la vie des policiers chinois. Lockdown est un bon film grâce à la présence magnétique de Jackie Chan et de son nouveau réalisateur fétiche au style efficace.Merci à ABvidéo et Warner pour cette édition française tout de même tardive, le film date de 2013; mais malheureusement il n'y a aucun bonus ! Cela doit pourtant être facile de récupérer le clip de la chanson de Jackie Chan, un making of, des interviews, un dossier de presse pour le livret ! Heureusement que le film est entier.
