Komelon EV28116; 16' X 1" Self Lock Evolution Tape Measure,

A friend who runs a fab shop suggested I try one of these tapes. For years I've used Stanley tapes, but missed having an auto lock. Recently I had to layout and cut a large amount of aluminum sheet so I ordered one to try. I was sold after the first sheet was done. The lock is of course great, but it's the large font and high contrast I really came to appreciate. I liked it enough I bought two more and I've started to give them away as gifts. A good tape measure is worth its weight in gold to a craftsman.

I love these tapes for projects. It's a go to tape. Carrying around a 25 foot tape is too much once in a while. The 1in wide tape and the extra end catch helps. The convenience of the auto lock is a very nice thing to have.

Small, lightweight, one of the few 16' 1'' wide blades. Double sided 2 tongue is a nice feature. I wish it had a wrap around rubber encasement instead of the over molded one. Tape cracked right in the middle on the 12'' mark right in the center of the tape. after a few months of use still usable but doesn't give me confidence in its longevity. It's a 6-9$ tape so it's expected.

Very pleased with this product. A great buy at a reasonable price. I purchased the 16-ft. version to keep handy in the house. The self-lock feature (works real well) was a key factor. I have an old Craftsman with this feature and love it, don't know why they discontinued it. The two-sided scales and hooks are quite nice and also influenced my decision. FYI, this tape has an 8-ft. stand-out. For inside measurements add 3-1/4": 3-3/16 case plus 1/16 hook. I already have my eye on another Komelon model for shop and site use.

I like the tape so much, I don't use my regular tapes anymore. Like the high visibility of this tape also, markings on both sides, and so far it's been very durable. Positive lock for all five that I have. On a side note, I've been using Klein tapes for years and really like them. I'm not sure about the brand new ones, but all I have are made by this company for Klein. I'm sure of it

I love the two tabs on the end of this tape measure. I'm in construction and I often drag the end of the tape along surfaces to mark lines, and the tab makes it extra easy to grab. I've always liked Komelon more than other brands since they seem to be made better and hold up over time.

Such a nice tape for household use. I wouldn't take this to a heavy workload job site, the mechanism for self locking is surely something that will begin to fail if this tape is abused too much. But for around the house Reno's and home maintenance it's fantastic. Very legible numbering and lines. Measures on the back side are sure neat but it's actually pretty rare that they're useful. Overall a nice handy tape. Live the self locking but don't trust it'll last long.

Very good tape measure. The auto-lock feature works well. Easy to read numbers. Overall an excellent tape measure.

I use this at work, I really like the double tabs at the end, and numbers on both top and bottom. Makes it easier to measure underneath a truck body on the hoist. Large numbers are easy to read. The last one I had lasted about a year, which is about twice as long as previous tape measures.

Compact with excellent visibility plus it has measurement markings on both sides of the tape.
