JEPH LOEB & TIM SALE: HULK GALLERY EDITION

Gray, Yellow, Blue - I can't wait for the next color! Really hoping for a Captain America book. The Hulk book is awesome and if I have to compare, my second favorite, Spider-Man: Blue being the absolute best one - hands down! Whereas in the other two books, the main character is talking to a deceased loved one, here, Banner is talking to his psychiatrist friend and reliving his ordeal of how he became hulk, his battle with the army, his battle with Iron Man, that's right IRON MAN! And lastly, his relationship with Betty. A very deep, emotional book with just stunning artwork. The illustrations are so good, I would not even call it a graphic novel, it's just a work of art! Huge fan of this team and pretty much hooked on whatever they churn out.

Jeff Loeb and Tim Sale are a great team. They never cease to amaze me. I have never bought one of their books and have been disappointed. Hulk:Gray is no exception. I have read "Batman-The long Halloween", "Superman-A Man for All Seasons", and even "Catwoman-When in Rome". All great stories that impressed me so I decided to check out some of their stories for Marvel. Hulk:Gray blew me away. The story and art are just amazing. The interaction between the characters is great, especially between the hulk and Betty. The action is well paced. There is even a great throwdown between hulk and Tony Stark in his original Iron Man armor!!! The animosity between the hulk and General "Thunderbolt" Ross is particlarly intense. The hulk just wants to be left alone and Ross just continues to hound him (and waste alot of expensive military equipment in the process). You have to wonder who the real monster is. General Ross is a obnoxious, loudmouth bully who constantly abuses his power for his own means. The Hulk at least tries to protect his friends Betty and Rick, in his own way. The only thing that was never clarified is why the hulk was originally gray. Doctor Banner spoke a little about this subject to Doc Samson but it was never really answered. Not really a complaint just a question. I really enjoyed this book. I loved it so much I recently picked up "Spiderman:Blue" and "Daredevil:Yellow". I'll pick up "Captain America:White" as soon as its released as well. I Hope they will work with Marvel again and I look forward to their future work. Once again; great book!!

Well done, eye-catching visual style. Solid writing did not try to reinvent the wheel. Safe canonical Hulk, perhaps à bit too safe, but not bad.

This is a fantastic retelling of the origin story of the Hulk. Taking that original and spinning it with modern comics storytelling is done in a way that really brings out the tragedy of this story. Highly recommended!

Book was in great shape, and the story is fantastic. Highly recommended, be sure to grab Daredevil:Yellow and Spider-Man:Blue as well!

Worth what I paid

There's moments of greatness with the art that Tim Sale is known for. At times the Hulk looks amazing, and then looks sloppy. This book was nothing as great as Superman: For All Seasons, or even the Batman Long Halloween books. Jeph Loeb has written better, so I was all on board for this ride but stayed on to see how it would end. Short trip!

This was done before Loeb was a total hack. I like this book quite a bit.

So much better than the original Hulk stuff. But then I am a big fan of these two guys. The quality shines through and the Hulk becomes a tormented soul who just wants a bit of peace and quiet and a good friend. Even if he literally kills them with kindness. A must for any Hulk fan.

overall product is in great quality, I'm looking forward to reading it very much, I hope it's just as good as Spiderman Blue :) Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale usually deliver great stuff.

Jeph Loeb's work is always worth a look. Good book, good value
