Electric Chainsaw Cordless 40V 16" Brushless, 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger, Smart Cut technology, Efficient cutting, Safe and Reliable, Great for Tree Felling, Storm Clean-Up, Pruning

I carry this saw and another cordless rig in my jeep to take advantage of fallen trees or branches in the pasture which I use to replenish my woodpile. I hate carrying 2 cycle oil, gas etc for such small jobs Just got this rig and have just tried it out so can't comment on how long it will last. Bought an extra 4 Amp battery ( which I always do) and both charged up well on the provided slow charger, Tried out both batteries and I cut a bunch of 6" wood on the first and only used one bar. Just tried the second one a few logs and it worked well and showed no discharge in fifteen minutes of cutting. I cut at a slow pace and always watch these battery run saws for overheating. The Wild Badger stayed nice and cool at the rate I was working. Chain was easy to adjust, old two bolt fashion, and the chain cut well on dry oak and pecan wood. Weight and balance were typical for these cordless rigs and the safety features seem to work well. There is a definite delay between pulling the saw trigger and the saw running which is different from my other saw and kind of disconcerting at first till you get used to it. My other saw does not have a chain break and this one has a very nice one. Good safety feature. Only thing that concerned me a bit was the auto oiler does not run the saw very wet but it seems OK. To me it always seems there is a great deal of variation in how wet these auto oilers lubricate the blade. Guess this is better than spraying oil all over the place. I would hesitate to run this saw fast and heavy on larger wood but then I really don't need to do that for stove wood all that much. Overall, so far and considering the very reasonable price, I am very pleased with the saw.

I’ve purchased 3 other brands of cordless chainsaws and sent all 3 back, mainly for the same reason. The chain tensioners were crap on all three. However this one has the same tensioner mechanism as my gas powered saw and it stays tight as it should. It’s light enough to use with one hand if necessary and has plenty of power for around the home use. There are only two downsides : one is the start delay, when you depress the trigger seems a little long, but that’s for safety and I got use to it quickly; the second is that it does not have a kickback plate. however, overall a good saw for the money. I’d recommend it to anyone for home and even light professional use.

battery work all day I am very impressed with this saw!!

Works great and has plenty of power to cut through branches six inches in diameter. Battery lasts more than four hours. Great quality.

The good news is, that unlike many similiar electric saw models, this one comes with the required battery pack, and it's not a separate purchase.The bad is that, it just doesn't work all that well. Fine for trimming very small branches (think the sort of things a small hacksaw could easily handle), don't even think of cutting down even a small tree (3-4" trunk), because the chain will come off the blade and it's near impossible to get back on when it does. Then, if you do, it's much more prone to falling off again, even on small things.Just not worth it.

My husband liked the fact it wasn't heavy to handle , or smoky.

I like the way this saw cuts wood, very easy to use, and does a great job!
