The Best
Simply a great product. I bought this to replace an old (12 year old) mitre saw but the evolution rage has taken this into a whole new level. First things first, however. This is a big beast; plan for a depth of 80 cm or so + room for you to stand in front of it. Unlike my old saw, you do not want to get too close and personal with this machine as it is one powerful beast and you need the space to control it. Factor in roughly the same dimensions for the width. The blade cuts beautifully, wonderfully clean and deals with any material you care to throw at it. You do need to clamp things down pretty well but after that cutting is a breeze. The repeat guides are useful, the saw allows precision adjustments and bevel/mitre at the same time. Spinning the saw around for a different degree cut is easy (no fiddling with screws) and the optional supports which hold the wood at the correct height are a real pleasure after years of trying to find scraps of wood to prop up the piece I was cutting at the right height. The laser is ok for me, though others will find it more useful and it can be toggled on/off as required - another example of the thinking behind this product. Built in clamps are a great idea to help you work safely and another feature I like is the depth stop so that you can cut through the wood to a determined depth, but no more, which is really useful to make trenching cuts.In short a very powerful saw cutting cleanly which has been well thought out and designed. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Mostly excellent but take care.
Great bit of kit. Lost a star as in the far left angle I cut a piece of the guard from the base plate. Poor product design there, but still works very well despite this.

WOW I thought to myself how bad can this be
WOW I thought to myself how bad can this be? Got some good reviews, so bought one, and its going straight back...This is only fit for purpose as rough cut saw, if you want good cuts look at something else. Design does seem solid but its all let down by the pin that holds the pivot for up and down motion of the saw, it has far to much play, and there is no adjustment for this, however; this could be a luck of the draw situation...If you like your cuts to be perfectly square avoid...

Straight out of the box easy to assemble and set up with a few minor adjustments to get it cutting angles perfectly, all explained in the book. I used to have a DeWalt compound cross cut mitre saw and stand that I used professionally and sold when I retired, however I have now a project that requires the use of another saw.The reason that I chose the Evolution over another Dewalt, apart from price, (the Rage is at lease half the cost of the DeWalt) was that I have had extensive experience of using Evolution saws, I used to work for a company building Clean Rooms in Chemical Plants and we had 5 Evolution saws in our crew and we would be ripping 10' mild steel panels to size all day long and not a bother from the blades and saws, not sure of the soft start motor but I will get used to it, likewise the laser seems a bit of a gimmick but i keep it switched off, over all a very nice bit of kit and well worth the money

Good DIY standard saw
Money considering this is a very handy and feature laden saw. It does knock out of square from time to time and you may need to check on occasion. The laser guide is useful. The blade provided surpassed my expectations and is very good for metal - wood - plastic, however you probably don't want to make too many metal cuts as the blade will dull. If you're looking for a saw for weekend tasks and allow for some adjustment on occasion this saw is fine

Great value & performance
I'm well impressed by the build quality & useful features. This saw has a large cutting capacity & the powerful motor makes easy work of the largest of cuts. The only niggle is the laser line can be hard to see, only a minor problem when doing one off cuts.

Best tool I own! Excellent company to deal with
Best mitre saw Ive used in years! Had a few other cheap tools in the past and was concerned that the price of this might lead to another false economy. Couldnt have been more wrong. The substantial box held a really solid saw. After a little setup following the excellent manual My first project involved making a few bits of furniture from scaffold planks. To say it handled this with ease would be an understatement. Brilliant and a pleasure to use.Soft start motor is brilliant and powerful combined with a blade that dealt easily with the odd nail. Couldnt be happier.UPDATE - after use for several months nearly every day. I can't fault. The dust bag is pretty useless but add a vacuum and youll be laughing.
