New to candle making, what I learned
Started with single wick, tunneling not staying lit.Redid the candles with double wick pouring the wax over the wick. When you first burn trim wick to 1/8 in best tool is nail clippers.Light wick all across the wood so it burns even. You must burn first time for about 4 hrs until all the wax on top is melted and even, soy wax has memory and will continue to create a tunnel eachtime after if you do not.Trim wick everytime you burn and always burn until top wax is all melted. This double wick good for my tin holders shown in pic 2 1/2 inches wide.Hope this helps.

Easy to use~ quality material
This is my first time purchasing a kit like this. I've wanted to make candles for so long. These worked for really great for the money. I ended up using them in my 4 ounce candles and they worked great. They put off a great scent in the wicks burned nicely and even had a crackling noise. If you want to make small candles these wicks are great wicks to use. They even come with the clips so all you need are some clips stickers. I ended up ordering them again a few months later and making enough candles to give everyone at work a gift for Christmas. Very fun DIY project at home. I even got my daughter into it and she is making her own candles now. Fun Project!

Absolutely horrendous!
I purchased to make candles with my daughter and they are absolutely horrible. They burn to wax and stop. I am using a soy wax bought on Amazon with excellent reviews that is compatible. The wick was left long enough. I tried with lower wax height and still it burns out. Very disappointing. I am thankful I did not give any as gifts. A complete waste of my time and moneys If I could give negative stars I would. The only positive I can add is the scissors work nicely.

Wood wicks
These wicks have to be double or triple together or they won't stay lit . If you only use one wick the flame will go out . The tool didn't last very long. After cutting six wicks it no longer works. But they seem to be working good doubled up . So take that into consideration.

These are wonderful! Some helpful hints...
The media could not be loaded. I used white beeswax pellets, coconut oil, and vanilla essential oil. I found the recipe online. I soaked the wicks in some olive oil overnight, and made sure that when I was pouring the wax I got plenty on the wick- as per manufacturer. I did put 2 wicks inside one metal holder and there's a lovely subtle crackling noise. From reading, I heard that allowing the melted mixture to cool down to 185 degrees or less before adding the essential oils will keep it from destroying the fragrance. Also, the candle in the video had a 'sinkhole' around the wicks. There are two ways around this- set your oven to 170-180 degrees and put your glass jars in there as it warms them, that way the jars won't be too cool for the wax. I saw someone use a heat gun and a wooden skewer to poke holes around the candle and let the wax level out from already cooled candles. What I did was put this candle in the oven as it warmed up to 180, for about 15 min, poked holes all around it, and it worked like a charm! If you end up with 'tunneling' (where the only wax that melts is just around the burning wick only) mix your wax with something more combustible - I used coconut oil.And omg try trim the wooden wicks before putting them in the jars, all I did was hurt my hand while the wood slide through the included clippers lol.The last thing recommended to prevent problems is to allow 48 hours for the candle to cure before lighting, and let it burn for 2 hours for a more even melt.P.s. Those flecks in my candle are dried flower petals I added away from the wick as it was cooling.I love these, the price, and I'm so glad I bought them! I hope I helped someone with this information <3

You must follow the instructions
The media could not be loaded. I have a lot of respiratory issues so I have to be picky about the candles I use. I decided to start making my own so I can control the ingredients. This is a very nice set and a great price for so many pieces. The set includes several wooden wicks as well as mounting tape, a wick trimmer, and stabilizing brackets. The mounting tape keeps the wick secured to the bottom of the candle and the brackets keep it from tipping over while the wax hardens. I really appreciate that they are made of wood instead of the typical cotton and lead ones. They are cleaner burning and don't create as much smoke. The key to getting a good, even burn is to follow the directions. Soaking the wicks in oil before placing them in the candle really makes a big difference.

Read a tutorial before use!
This is my first time making candles and these wicks are great. I read tons of stuff about how they don’t stay lit, but Christmas is in 2 days so I was determined to make it work. I used soy way from candle science and the fragrance oils from there too.1. Soak these wicks in olive oil for a few hours2. Double up the wicks in each candleI was super nervous that they wouldn’t stay lit, but I’m trying one out now and it’s stayed lit for like half an hour so far and looks so cute. Not a ton of crackling, but that’s ok bc it looks awesome. I’d buy again.Other things:I didn’t get wick stickers bc I thought they were dumb, they’re not, they would have made this process easier. Instead I cut out wick holes in cardboard box to keep them centered. You need these scissors. I didn’t understand why I’d need them until I went to cut the wicks.I also learned from my research that you’re supposed to let a candle burn until they whole surface is melted before you blow it out.
