Does a normal square door spindle fit this handle?

Yes it possibly would looks very similar sized but we didn’t use it for that purpose

Why is there no back attachment to this product is this missing it does not show you have to buy another side i would not have expected to do for a ha

What you see is what you get. There is not supposed to be a back attachment. The plate sits flush after routing the door it goes onto.

Will this work as a pair of these handles with a standard mortice latch? And what is minimum door thickness to use as such?

Have used as single with lever handle on other side of door but had to offset mortice latch on 34mm thick door so would guess that you would need at least a 40 to 45mm door

If this was used as a pair does the handle turn both ways. Ie clockwise and anti clockwise?

The hand rings flow freely, so their action will be governed by the type of rod you put between them. I didn't use them that way, but instead had a ball closure so just needed to pull.
